We’re March 23 on Wonder.
Yup

Was “free” casino cruise in GS. But upgraded to CLS.

Eager to enjoy   suite deck by CLS.

Be safe.

I like to try a suite on wonder , from what I read suite area is similar to celebrity retreat on E class , but currently prices are insane. We will be getting off celebrity summit music charter about the same time , we have a royal suite which has similar perks as the star class on rccl.

It used to be that Uber had a few advantages over taxis...It was often cheaper, you never had to deal with payment for the driver (done in the app), you could see exactly where your car was and when it would arrive, you can track your journey while in progress, etc.  When we were in NYC in January, the taxis there used an app that was similar to the Uber app and had many of the same advantages.  I wouldn't be surprised if Boston also had an app for their taxis.

Knowing the price in advance & being able to track the arrival time of the car are the 2 big advantages. Especially when out for dinner or drinks. I had drivers offer me water & snacks. I know tipping can be done via the app but most of the time, drivers do appreciate cash.

There are some things to watch out for, if you are trying to schedule a ride in advance.

For me, I will stick to booking when I need it, or will be more careful so that doesn’t happen again.

I've had no luck scheduling a driver in advance. I know Uber touts that you can reserve a car 30 days in advance but twice I've tried to do it 1 day in advance. Both times, the driver accepted the reservation only to cancel a few hours later.  Not tragic but mildly annoying.

Like you, I'll book only as needed from now on.

So we're enjoying the cruise.

Had a lovely 24 hours in Barcelona. At first glance our hotel room (right off Las Ramble) was tiny, but it was perfectly formed with everything we needed, comfy, great air con, and great shower.

Enjoyed exploring the Gothic area, Barcelona cathedral and yummy Tapas.

There's a few subtle differences on this cruise. No art auctions or art staff that I can see. No pushing of 'specials' .

Hardly any announcements.

No queues for coffee in the CL, or crowds in the Crown Lounge ( seeing as most are diamond or above).

Demographics seem mostly North Americans with Spanish the second largest group I guess.

I've posted on Pats world thread about some of the ports.

Our first sea day today, just off to the Crown and anchor ️party

Best wishes for a wonderful cruise Sue.

@Sea Dog Greg - Congrats on being selected to be an extra.  I'm conflicted.  On the one hand, I'd love to see you in the upcoming movie...even if it's just a shot of the back of your head.  On the other hand, I'm not a big Hallmark movie guy and I've had more than my share of watching things on TV related to the Chiefs (which often ends poorly for me ☹️). I'll somehow suffer through though in support of you.

I'm sure you know this, but this is what NOT to do as an extra. 😜

Okay my cruising friends, particularly those of you who have done a Norwegian Fjords cruise, I’m looking for some input.  We are considering planning one for next spring and I want to get the most bang for my buck, scenery wise.  Celebrity Apex has three sailings in May, all with different port stops. These are the itineraries for each, two are 7 night cruises and one is an 8 nighter.  They all have two sea days at different points.

5/3 - Haugesund, Olden, Flam, Bergen

5/10 - Nordfjord, Flam, Geiranger, Brussels Belgium (8 nts)

5/17 - Brussels, Olden, Geiranger, Alesund, Stavanger

Celebrity Eclipse has a 12 night which also includes the Arctic Circle but it departs on June 5th.  This would mean missing my new grandson Tyler’s first birthday, so that’s a no go for us.

I feel like Geiranger is the ‘not to be missed’ port for seeing fjords and more nights are always better, so I’m leaning towards the May 17th itinerary.

Thoughts??

I have not cruised Norway but I've slept in a Holiday Inn Express so I feel like an expert.😄 Does anyone remember those commercials?

Seriously, I have read twangster's review of his Norwegian Fjords cruise & was impressed by Flam. And with Geiranger  being a "not to miss" port, the 5/10 cruise would be the winner for me. Plus, it's an 8-nighter. Extra days are always better.

We have never used Uber or Lyft.  We cruise out of Boston in September and will need a ride to the hotel and maybe to the port.  How do those work?  Why not just take a cab?

On another note my procedure is a week from Thursday and I should be all good by the next Monday.  I have a little trip with a friend in early August so Amelia Island will be later in August.  Then the big trip in September.  I still need to get busy with the cruise planner for February.

Best wishes for a successful procedures with favorable results and no pain😊

I care about you too much to make you suffer through it. If I make the cut I will take a screenshot of the scene and post it. 😁

@Momof3gurlz  we were on the 12 night jewel in may this year and agree with Dani’s order of ports.   We were not crazy about the weather and the ship so much but Norway was AMAZING.

Our Norway cruise was one of our favorites.  It started in Copenhagen and went to Flam, Alesund, Geiranger and Bergen.

My thoughts and only mine.

Flam - pretty.  We took the railroad up so far, stopped and had a snack and drink at a lodge type place.  Then we walked down to another stop and caught a train back.  We had a guide who was not that good but the scenery and waterfalls were beautiful.

Alesund - second favorite port.  We took a bus trip on the Path of the Trolls.  We saw so many things and it was a lot of fun.

Geiranger - Awesome not to be missed.  Get up super early to watch the sail in.  Walk up beside the waterfall.  Super cute shops.  We took a short trip up into the mountains to a sheep farm where she made cheese.

Bergen - meh.  Just a big city.

I've meant the 5/10 (Geiranger + Flam), sorry.

If possible, I'd go with the 6/28 (Bergen is also a beautiful town, and from Zeebrugge you can travel to Bruges and taste some amazing Belgian chocolate, also a very nice and scenic place), since "me thinks" May is way to early for the fjords.

I agree.  I've been reading reviews for May cruises and they can be quite chilly with temps in the 30's and 40's. Possibly colder for the more northern ports. Especially if you go to the mountain tops.

Congratulations! Your seapass should now open the door to the ML.... Monopoly Lounge. You will find some very fun people in there as well as a working 24 hr espresso machine.

Jim and I just laughed out loud, OB!!😁

Well this is expensive being a  extra. Non of my clothes fit as I’ve lost weight. So a trip to Men’s Warehouse and $437 later a sports coat, pants and two shirts. The things we do in motion pictures!🤣😄

Uber is pretty easy.  Download the app, create an account, add a payment method, and you are ready to go.  This video shows how it works.

Thank you for this, Bob!  My daughter and I were having a discussion the other day about when I get to London.  As I was talking about the Tube there and how convenient it should be, she more or less was insisting I should download the Uber/Lyft app so that we could also use that to get from place to place.😉

I wonder if they will have a premiere in the city before it actually airs on the Hallmark channel? My guess is not .

By the time it will air I will have the tiki patio packed up for the winter. I store everything to keep the elements off it during winter.

Congratulations Greg!  You're a Natural for this movie.  😉  I'm so happy for you!!

@ReneeFLL have you received your S24 yet? If so, what do you think of it?

They came in today. I’m hearing some grumbling under Mike’s breath.  🤔
