One game as a Jr in HS I pitched 11 innings…I’m sure I threw 150+ pitches. Crazy thing is my arm felt great the next day…in fact that was a Tuesday game and I came back and threw another 7+ innings on Friday. I was fast ball pitcher on softball teams for Jr high and high school as well as local township team. My schedules were crazy. I would pitch a game for school then some nights have to pitch again for the traveling township league. I remember being exhausted when alarm would go off at 6 am to get up for school but lucky enough never had any physical issues (other than an ankle problem from sliding into 3rd base one game). Rare h20skibum Posted August 25 #128203 Share Posted August 25 Today is my California grandson’s 12th birthday. We had an early party for him before he went back home. He sent us this picture, not so much for him, but he wanted us to see the peacock wandering around at his friend’s house. It is in front of the one car. I am wondering how long that flow rider activity band will stay on his arm. 22 days and counting now. 15
grapau27 Posted August 25 #128204 Share Posted August 25 Good afternoon. It is windy and just starting to rain. Saga cruise ship Spirit of Adventure has just passed on the horizon. It is not due into Newcastle until 08.00am tomorrow but it is quite close to the River Tyne piers now.

Many years ago I wanted to get on a company softball team.I said I could pitch. After I gave up 8 runs in 2 innings.I was wanted on the team because I was a great hitter.I tried every position and was terrible until they tried me as catcher. One night the team we were supposed to play said they would have to forfeit because their catcher could not make it to the game.As we were playing for $5 a man plus beers everyone wanted the game to be played .It was agreed that I would catch for both teams but not bat.We lost the game.

We drove to the beach at Robert Moses State Park, Long Island, New York. Here are some photos: NYC from the George Washington Bridge as we "crawled" over .... At the beach. A pretty calm ocean and we saw a bunch of dolphins (not pictured) as well. We walked by the Fire Island Lighthouse on our way to the town of Kismet for lunch. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. PS We did a B2B in Europe in July / early August on Anthem. Our first cruising in Europe. Loved it! I have a relatively new Chair Walker.Yesterday my wife took me to Robert Moses State Park,a distance of 30 minutes from our house. We were last there in 2010.Today we will do another short trip .

George C Posted August 25 #128218 Share Posted August 25 I am amazed that toy is still attached, kittens currently sleeping in their condo after spending morning either fighting or trying to get that toy. Hosting monthly poker game in about a hour . My niece and goddaughter just sent her soon to be 21 year old daughter to spend a semester in Italy, her twin brother will be flying to Vegas with his buddies right after he turns 21 , we will be in Denver visiting my sister next weekend and her children and grandchildren.

Rare h20skibum Posted August 25 #128222 Share Posted August 25 Susan and I have been out on several trails the last couple days. Thursday, we met up with several of her sisters, and had lunch at Conneaut Lake with a nice view. We went to see “It Ends With Us”, then hiked part of a trail in Meadville. We quit after a couple miles, because the mosquitos were so bad. Yesterday, we were hiking in Ohio. Parts of the trail were not bad. Parts were a challenge. The trails have quite a few stone walls that were built in the 30’s under WPA Found a WPA stone. Today, we were walking the Peninsula bike trail in Erie. Found one of these, and it comes with instructions. and, I found a lighthouse for @Ocean Boy After that hard walk, time for refreshments
