@sgmnAgree with Debbie about deck six.  Very convenient, even though everyone knows about the secret door!

sorry about your friend.

Oh but everyone does not know about the secret door. That is why people line up 30 minutes early on deck 5 waiting to get into the shows.

Currently in Canton Ohio at the Football Hall of Fame as guest of Bowling Green State University as we watch and celebrate the football teams last scrimmage before the season begins.
Of course would not be here had it not been for our son in law being one of the coaches. Met up with daughter and granddaughter.

Zoey was not in the mood to meet Freddie and Freida the mascots as she hung onto Christina for dear life.

love your view!     I think I would be getting a nice patio set with a sofa or large comfy chair and be spending a lot of time on that patio with those beautiful views.    Enjoy!

I was thinking of you last night as I couldn't remember if your Bermuda was coming up soon.  At least Ernesto dropped down to a Cat 1 Hurricane.  I have been to Bermuda right before and right after a Hurricane and they usually fare pretty well.

There were 2 I could choose mid august or mid sept. I'm on the sept 13. August had only insides and sept insides and ovs. So I took a ov, though right after I booked prices crashed. I could have gotten obc and much cheaper, but I just saw it and booked, didnt compare before I booked. I'll be disappointed if I dont see those pink beaches people keep talking about.

A good thing happened today. I'm going to europe next may. I booked the 2nd leg to see greece, especially athens. I guess just because I took 4 years of latin. Not from any real knowledge but I blinked and all the excursions for athens booked up, only 2 crummy ones left for english speaking. I kept saying surely by next may they will add more excursions. Been looking almost daily. One spot, "last one" popped up today for a 4 hour motor coach tour. Being solo I grabbed it. It goes to the acropolis but only to a viewing area not inside, and other highlights. Still says I need to be able to walk 1 mile over cobblestones and 4 hours is plenty for me. Didnt want longer, though the 3 pm time isnt ideal.

This is 2 nights I'll miss early dinner. But at least I got transportation driving me now. The only one left was a walking tour, walk from ship and 3.5 hours in town walking.  I decided no, I'll keep waiting for someone driving. I couldn't handle a 7 hour strenuous tour. Sad to say i let myself go but know i cant. It went from just a 7 hour to next time i looked everything sold out for athens except junk. I dont want a walking tour from the ship. And one that dropped off in town, that's it, dropped you off in the middle of town. I'd like to go into the acropolis but this one I got today I can do. I do have Pompeii on my own for strenuous climbing inside it says, strenuous. Now I feel all set. Just that 1 spot opened up, all I needed. I cant believe they wouldnt add more excursions but maybe they limit them on purpose. They certainly could sell more. Lots of time until next may.

Congrats on booking the last spot on the Athens excursion!

We love Bermuda in September/October.    Still sad I had to cancel our Sept 19th bermuda cruise due to a work conflict.   I hope you love the island as much as we do!

Now I'm worried.    When Eric became eligible for medicare this past March he selected a Medicare Advantage PPO plan thru Aetna to cover part C & D.     To date, he has had no issues with any of his specialty meds and all his doctors (transplant, primary and eye doc) have been part of their network and co-pays have been the same or less than what he paid when he with BCBS thru employer plan.

There was one medication that Aetna rejected when we went to refill in April but then his doctor stepped in advising Aetna that he is a transplant recipient and it has been covered at a cost of $0.10 for a 90-day supply since April.

Fingers crossed we don't run into any future problems with the advantage plan.

It’s just crazy that there isn’t just simple health insurance coverage for all of Medicare recipients.

I also just signed up for the Medicare Aetna PPO Advantage Plan for my part C & D.  I’m happy to read that you’re not having any problems with it.  I’ve read that there are less problems with Advantage Plans if you’re in a large metropolitan area.

It is my understanding that I have a year to try the Advantage plan and can change to traditional Medicare supplements if I’m not happy with my plan.  Thanks for sharing your experience.

Well it's been sold out ever since I saw it... one spot came available today. I'm not used to excursions that sell out so fast like athens. This is the first time it's been available to book since I've seen it. Poof. They were all booked up, sold out since the choices hit. There is one more 4 hour strenuous version that goes into the acropolis and the other there. That one says I have to walk 1 to 1.5 miles and 200 steps to the top. I'd try it if it came up but this moderate version came up. I guess they limit who can get into the acropolis.

I been checking pretty much every single day since june. Finally.

I think there is a open time every year where you can change. Seems like December is open. Not just after the 1st year, it's open every year for about a month.

That's what I have is the advantage plan.

My Medicare advice is to speak to an independent broker who handles all Medicare plans.  Ours came to our home, listed all of our medications, doctors and came up with the best plan.

With AARP medigap I had 2 major surgeries and didn't pay  anything.  I stayed in rehab for 6 weeks in-patient and didn't pay anything.   I tried Humana Advantage (no premium) last year and gave it up to go back to AARP. Jack still has Humana Advantage because with his medical history his premium for AARP would be high.

Without getting too deep into the weeds since insurance can be a VERY touchy subject.  I second this advice.  Find a good broker.  Everyone’s needs and situation is different &  good broker will listen your needs and recommend the best fit.

I’ve missed a few days here due to driving back to Pittsburgh from Alys Beach FL.  Ended up being about 15 hrs one way.  split the drive into about half over 2 days.  Compared to flying I think I prefer the drive (as long as I have the extra vacation time to use).

We had 14 total in our house at the beach.  10 adults and 4 kids (10,6, 2 and 2 yr old).  The pool was amazing  and a short walk to the beach.  There was even a golf cart with the house.  I snapped some quick pics before the kids took over the pool.

Correct  Medicare open enrollment is every year called an annual election period (AEP).  It’s from 10/15 to 12/7 for a 1/1/25 effective date this year.  This is the time to make any changes (if needed).

Newly eligible is different.

It's nice that the new condo is conveniently located next to the curtains.  🙂😻

They haven’t attempted to climb curtains since we added the new condo , but I am sure this is temporary , but now have a loaded water gun 😁😁

@ValerieJo  We knew he definitely did not want the HMO plan.   He sees a couple different doctors with being a transplant recepient so we figured it would be a hassle to get referrals.   The Aetna PPO plan has worked well so far.   I'll keep you posted if we run into any snags.   Stay Well!

I suspect Sympathy OTS is rocking and rolling today because of Ernesto.  They are due to arrive at Cape Liberty, NJ tomorrow morning.

They missed a port so  they have plenty of time and  are cruising very slowly back to  New Jersey.

After a lovely sunny Saturday in Sydney yesterday, it was a bit drizzly today but we still enjoyed the walk from Palm Beach to Avalon Beach with a side detour to do the loop walk at Bengally Headland.

First beach after Palm Beach -

Some colour along the way

Views from the  headland loop walk.  Normally you can look back towards Palm Beach but it was obscured by the drizzle.  Out to sea view instead.

It was lovely walking through the headland, after the Heath there was lots of wildflowers in bloom.

Then we walked down to the southern end of Avalon Beach.

We finished  off with a healthy lunch at Avalon. For me - three different  Goodness balls - falafel, beetroot and  brown rice.29020811-A3C5-4520-82E6-E262E77C8CE4.thumb.jpeg.db4fa83f5c632aa7a5a6023700dd33d6.jpeg

@CSHS1979 Laura, do you know if you were turned away because of protesters, or was it because there were already two ships here?  Hopefully it is the later.

Protests, but the pier outside town is occupied currently
