They changed procedures on Wednesday

Glad we took the plunge on Tuesday then. Lucky timing on our part. I would hate to have to wait days or even weeks for confirmation.

Hi,My sister is thinking of booking a cruise on Explorer 23/08/20 and shifting to Harmony July or Aug 2021.

Don't think she's convinced it is OK. I told her it didn't have to be booked before May 6th.

Is it right she will only pay deposit if she changes before the final payment is due.

That is correct, I just did it this, same sailing Explorer 23/08/20   I booked the cruise on my travel agency web site this past Saturday Night and paid the $500 deposit.

Then on Tuesday my agent lifted and shifted them to September 23, 2021.  Same price as Explorer's Price.

Pretty simple, also booking is still cancellable up to 48 hours before sailing September 21st 2021. If canceled at that time you will recieve a FCC for the entire amount of the cruise to use later.

I was told by the guy who sorted my transferred cruise that I was to be aware the pricing would be incorrect in the e.mail he was sending and it would take upto two weeks to receive a fresh e.mail from the section who are doing the invoicing . So far I have had an e.mail showing the same booking reference with the new sail date and amended cabin number , our original cabin was already booked on the new sailing.
I have faith I will receive a new e.mail with the correct amended details in due course .

I was told the same.Invoice showing full price same booking ref to be sorted within 2 weeks.

That sucks.  You would have thought that if they took the time to include Chinese New year they would have included Thanksgiving or say All holiday sailings such as...but not limited to.

Believe it or not I have a positive update to the Thanksgiving issue. I had completely given up and the only reason I hadn't flat out cancelled this year's cruise was out of sheer laziness.

Yesterday I got an email from the AMAZING inbound sales person who was trying to help me earlier in the week. He had continued to ask around until he found the proper person to give approval for doing a l&s on a holiday other than Christmas New year's or Chinese New year's. I had to call back into general sales and go through the same 2.5 hrs of no's and escalations but I am happy to report that my cruise was successfully shifted to Thanksgiving 2021.

I can honestly say in all my years of sailing I have never had an inbound sales rep continue to look into an issue for me after getting off the phone much less email me directly. Kudos to Royal Caribbean for what I consider to be stellar customer support.

Has anyone attempted to do a Lift&Shift on a cruise that was booked thru Club Royale?

We have several where we have only had to pay a 3rd person charge and the taxes/port/fees.  I will check with my player Development Host next week, just wondering if anyone tried this already.

I tried with a complimentary casino cruise where I paid only port and tax plus upgrade fees and it was a no. What is a player development host?

My understanding is that if the cruise is a complimentary or casino rate booking it cannot be L&S’ed but if it is just a normal booking (no discounts) made through Club Royale, it can be.

From the FAQ’s

14. Do all rate codes qualify for Cruise with Confidence?
When opting for the Future Cruise Credit, all rate codes apply, with no restrictions. Select restricted rates are ineligible for Lift & Shift and Best Price Guarantee - including but not limited to Net rates, Casino rates, Travel Agent Friends & Family rates, Travel Agent Reduced rates, and complimentary staterooms.

I have completed an L&S on a booking that included a $600 casino discount (certificates earned from gambling).  They did, however, add the $600 to the protected price on the new date. That is still $2000 cheaper than next year's sailing.

I must have not been paying attention attention...so now cwc extended 12 months. Any cruise 12 months out can be cancelled? Maybe I'm reading this wrong?

So I could cancel a booked cruise next January, take a fcc and rebook fall of 2021?

That is why I have twice as many booked as usual.  I plan to go on every one I have booked, but the flexibility to make changes is a game changer.

Hi everyone,

Quick question.  Back at the beginning of this whole thing March sometime (seems like a lifetime ago), Royal posted that final payment instead of being made 90 days out, would be 60 days out.  Is that still in play.  I remember seeing it, cant find it anywhere and am told by Royal that my info. Is incorrect.  Also, with respect to an FCC which was applied on a cruise, then then cruise was cancelled, I thought they were issuing a new FCC.  Where the original one that was applied was voided, a new one would be issued and has a life till end of 2021 or 2022.  What is the current policy on that.  There have been so many “policies” in play and new ones coming out, I’m getting all kinds of misinformation from Royal that I gave up today.  I will call back tomorrow but want to be able to quote dates and times lines as they came into play from March on.

Thanks all,

Shelley

No.  That was only for a half dozen cruises because of a specific situation.

regular final payment terms are still in play at the current time.

Yes, you can cancel and get a new FCC. They take anywhere between 30 and 60 days to show up.

Thanks - what about the FCC

Back then the original FCC was reissued under its original terms and conditions including expiry date or the expiry date was extended until Oct of this year whichever was later.

you would have to call to see if they will extend yours further.
