The cancellations continue:

Cancelled cruises include Panama Canal, Hawaii, Pacific Coastal and South America

With travel and port restrictions continuing for the near future due to global health concerns, Holland America Line is extending its pause of cruise operations and cancelling additional departures from the port of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, in 2020, as well as select Hawaii itineraries for early 2021.

The following cruises are affected:
Eurodam:
Sept. 26, 2020, 22-day Panama Canal cruise from Vancouver to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Koningsdam:
Sept. 26, 2020, seven-day Pacific Northwest cruise from Vancouver to San Diego, California.
Jan. 16 and Feb. 2, 2021, Circle Hawaii Voyages roundtrip from San Diego.

Maasdam:
Sept. 21, 2020, 16-day Mexico and Sea of Cortez itinerary from Vancouver to San Diego.

Noordam:
Sept. 27, 2020, 14-day North Pacific Crossing from Vancouver to Yokohama, Japan.

Volendam:
Sept. 30, Oct. 3 and Oct. 10, 2020, three- and seven-day Pacific Northwest and coastal cruises from Vancouver.

Westerdam:
Sept. 20, 2020, 17-day Circle Hawaii cruise roundtrip from Vancouver.
Oct. 7, 2020, 23-day Inca Discovery voyage from Vancouver to San Antonio (Santiago), Chile.

All shorter segments within the above cruise departures are cancelled. Collector Voyage's that combine back-to-back cruises including the above departure dates are also cancelled.

Guests Automatically Receive Future Cruise Credit

Those with impacted cruises automatically will be cancelled, and no action is needed for guests opting for the Future Cruise Credit (FCC). All guests will receive an FCC per person as follows:

Paid in Full: Those who had paid in full will receive 125% FCC of the base cruise fare paid to Holland America Line.

Not Paid in Full: Those with bookings not paid in full will receive an FCC of double the amount of the deposit paid for the cruise. The minimum FCC is $100 and the maximum will be an amount up to the base cruise fare paid.

The above options do not apply to EURO zone guests notified of a change to their sailing on or after April 14th, 2020. Please refer to the offer detailed in the letter you received.

The FCC is valid for 12 months from the date of issue and may be used to book sailings departing through Dec. 31, 2022. All other funds paid to Holland America Line may be transferred to a new booking or will automatically be refunded via the method of payment used to purchase the services.

Full Refund Option Also Available

Guests who prefer a 100% refund of monies paid to Holland America Line can visit the Cancellation Preferences form to indicate this preference no later than July 15, 2020.

The above options are not applicable to guests booked on a charter sailing. Other booking and cancellation conditions and policies may apply if the cruise was not booked through Holland America Line. See the terms and conditions in the Cancellation Preferences form for all details.

As previously announced, Holland America Line extended its pause of global cruise operations and cancelled all Alaska, Europe and Canada/New England cruises for 2020. In addition, Amsterdam will not operate the 79-day Grand Africa Voyage.

Please note: Refunds are being processed by sailing date of the cancelled voyages with the earliest departures being refunded first. We ask for your continued patience in affording us the time to work through the refunds properly. Because we are not able to use our usual automated process, our team is manually handling a large volume of requests while working from home.

As always, we thank you for your understanding and hope you and your loved ones are staying healthy and safe.

Should you have any questions, please call your travel advisor or contact us at the appropriate office:

Why so far our for San Diego to Hawaii??

They might know something more about Hawaii’s limitations and complications to arrive there by cruise ship than we do 😉

Sadly,  546 rows now.     Scott.

Wow - thanks for the spreadsheet - it really hits you with the enormity of it as you scroll past all of the cruises that are not going to happen.  We were at the bottom of the list 2-3-21 - 18 day Hawaii.  It's very sad.

Our Hawaiian cruise was canceled. We were actually kind of relieved.  Didn't want to wear a mask in all public areas or when we went ashore in Hawaiian ports. Now we have until June 2021 to decide where we will use our deposit.  Hope things are back to normal by then.

That may be true, but there are a number of other 2020 Hawaii cruises on the Koningsdam and other HAL ships that have not been cancelled...yet. It could be that they have other plans for the Koningsdam during the January/February 2021 timeframe.

No surprise.  My guess is that there will be more cancellations.

I totally agree about being more cancellations. It's just odd that they skipped cancelling a number of Koningsdam cruises prior to the Jan/Feb 2021 Hawaii cruises, Including Koningsdam cruises to Hawaii.

Three days ago booked Feb 2 Hawaii rather assuming Nov Hawaii would be cancelled !!  Maybe I'll just forget the whole thing and stick with Oct 2021 Ryndam to use FCC from cancelled April cruise, of course assuming it is launched by then.  :classic_blink:  May all our problems be no greater than this.

I guess I was wrong in assuming Hawaii would be one of the first cruise to actually sail.

Agree. Really thought Hawaii and Alaska would be the first cruises to start up again. Looks like there are some river cruises starting.

In May the Hawaii Department of Business, Economics and Tourism estimated that there would be in cruise ships allowed until near the end of 2021. Unknown if this is still the assumption or not.

They must be reading the same tea leaves as the Seychelles 🇸🇨.

I think the heading of this post is deceptive, because it's not just Vancouver departures and Hawaii cruises.  Some on the list are, for instance, FLL-FLL (Caribbean), San Diego-San Diego. and the European cruises, etc.  People who have not read the full list are still arguing on various facebook pages that it's only Vancouver based cruises that are cancelled, because they haven't heard directly from HAL.  I feel bad for everyone who was booked - this is the first year that we did not have a cruise already booked (usually we have at least 2) so we have been spared the hassle of refunds and rebooking.

Sorry If some of you where hoping to cruise again in 2020, I just don't think that will be happening. Hopefully a vaccine or multiple vaccines will be widely available by Jan. 2021 and the rest of next year will not be that disruptive.

Hawaii just extended their mandatory 14 day quarantine period for anyone arriving until the end of July.  They have also arrested some folks who have violated the quarantine.

Thank you for reporting this, cruiserchuck.
