I had paid a £200 deposit on a Spirit Athens trip 23rd August.  Final payment is due, but I now get the error message as per the above.  I presume if they cancel I will get the £200 back to the credit card....eventually.  What if anything is offered by way of FCC, is it just 125% of the £200 already paid or 125% of the total cost of the cruise?  It is just a shame that unlike Celebrity, who have a 'Lift and Shift' policy, which means you can switch to the same itinerary, same class on ship, retaining the original price and perks for a future date.

The bonus is on what you paid.

This is very odd. Ncl today posted an advert promoting the only sailing for august showing on their website.

it is a sponsor post like an AD..most likely NCL did not actually post it

But then why remove all the other cruises for august?

I dunno - I can still book Alaska cruises for September. That is dishonest too. Canada is closed. Alaska isn't happening.

Sponsorted posts are ones the company pays for to advertise on the platform. Yes it might have been NCL's ad agency that placed that ad (or a travel agent) but ultimately its NCL offering the product and they can direct their ad agency and/or other agents appropriately. They want the cash in flows.

I agree.  They should cancel those. Not fair to the pax booked.  I just think its odd they are missing most cruises or is it they filled to   or passed the capacity the cdc wants?  We shall see what happens.

No you can't book them. NCL finally removed the remaining 2020 Alaska cruises from their website yesterday.

Its not odd when you consider they want people to book so they have cash flows. Dishonest, yes.

so what is the alternative? cancelling the rest of the year and if other cruise lines open up they lose out on revenue and possibly go out of business because of the jump all other cruiselines will have

everyone says how wrong it is to keep open cruises that (in our eyes) will most likely get cancelled but no one that I have seen has given an alternative to that option. not sailing when they are able to is not an option either.

I dont like people paying money for cruises that might not sail but I dont see any way the cruise companies (not just NCL) can do anything else. Its up to the consumer to read and learn and make educated decisions. They dont have an option but to cancel one month at a time

They may not have cancelled the existing bookings yet, but all 2020 Alaska cruises were removed from their website and can no longer be booked. CDC capacity has nothing to do with it. They could all meet every CDC requirement and they still couldn't sail because all Canadian ports are closed.

Good grief...can you stop already and just accept the facts. Your posts amount to no more than repetitive spamming.

wasnt talking about alaska cruise as far as the the capacity thing.  i clearly said ncl should have canceled those already. why dont you pay closer attention rather than assuming.

I received a payment reminder today. Payment is due on June 28. Never received such an e-mail before when we went on our other NCL cruises.

It's a bold move, try to let people pay and then cancel (I'm sure they will in a few days)
Like I'm going to pay....🙄

I have a cruise booked on the Spirit out of Athens on the 23rd August. Payment is due today and keep getting email reminders.  I agree with all the above, I think there is zero chance of this now going ahead, although as an airline employee, I see from my Interline website that they have just released dates for staff to book numerous NCL cruses from 1st September.    Although I am not happy to give them any more money, question is, if I don't make final payment, as the cruise has not as yet been cancelled, am I in breach of contact and they can rightfully keep my deposit?

Funny because when you think you are right you do the same exact thing.

Refer to the Terms & Conditions under which you booked.  Or call your Travel Agent.

I'm sorry,  I may strongly defend my opinions but that is a long way from intentionally provoking arguments by knowingly posting nonsense day after day after day for months. If you don't understand the difference I feel sorry for you.

My question is:  After all the cancellations over the past 3 months, cruise lines should have computer programs where they can react to cancelled cruises rather quickly and issue the options (FCC, refunds, other) to those with reservations.  Instead they drag their feet.   Cruises into Canada were known to be a "no go" many weeks ago, but cruises were not shown as cancelled on the web sites.  I have a NYC to Quebec cruise that still shows in my reservations page on NCL.

The bad part is I cannot rebook a new cruise using the FCC (and whatever bonus is offered) until they process the cancellation and the FCC shows in my NCL account.  Yes, I have heard one can book and then apply the FCC later, but much prefer to know what the FCC will be and then do it all at one time.

They're dragging their feet on cancelling cruises they know won't sail because that allows them to hold onto your money longer if you are requesting a refund.

they have the right to change your itinerary if they choose to. so just because Canada is closing, they 'might' be trying to see if they will reroute you to another port. While unlikely, its a possibility

It is only an argument if you choose to respond to the poster as such, you can always use the ignore button. Works for me. 🤫

My entire fun budget for the whole summer is wrapped up in taking my low-income mom on the August 2nd Bliss sailing from Seattle to Alaska r/t. Obviously, that isn't happening. Totally conjecture, but their recent "rerouting" of a Canada-bound itinerary from NYC to Bermuda has me thinking it could happen to us. It looks like it could take two and a half days for the Bliss to sail to Ensenada at 22.5 knots in favorable conditions. No idea if the port is open or if it's even equipped to handle a ship the size of the Bliss.

While hugely unlikely, is it possible for NCL to "reroute" our itinerary to a different end port? Like one that we would have to fly back to Seattle from?

I can't help but be worried and frustrated. This cruise represents a lot of my hard-earned money that is currently all tied up, and I hate the idea of not cruising and not getting a refund in enough time to actually enjoy my summer. Instead, I guess I'll just be sitting at home the whole time thinking about all the other ways I'd like to spend that money. I recognize that it's out of my hands. 🙁

Encore starting in August, some other ships starts to sail again in September

This feels like a case of deductive reporting. They’re assuming based on what shows on the website when none of us with August bookings have yet been told anything official.
