I paid our balance this week as things were looking good. I guess the meeting on Tuesday with the minister was not as positive as publicised.

I'm sorry about that Molecrochip...I'd held off - just mainly out of principle as it was due Sunday, so at least it's only a couple hundred for us in the refund queue as opposed to about four thousand.  At least it's certainty but jesting aside, it is disappointing news.

 

I might wait and see what the new brochure says, given that they'll be a long wait anyway.

I don’t know why he bothered with that video, half of it was waffle, and the other half didn’t give specific ship detail.

 

He said to look on the website - I did and there’s nothing blindingly obvious about an announcement.

 

no email for me as yet, so I guess my pesky March Iona cruise is still on at the moment! 

 

I’ve got to dash, but will have a closer look a bit later.

Two important points to note amongst the fluff:

 

30th November 2020 remains the date on the P&O Cruises website for you to request a 100% cash refund if your cruise has been cancelled, either arising from this or a previous pause.

 

The above point not mentioned in the video; this information was correct as of a few minutes ago.  In practice, this should mean that you can review the new brochure before choosing, but you will not have too long to decide.  

 

All time based guarantees appear to have been withdrawn relating to the timeliness of refunds.

 

In practice, this should probably mean activating a "chargeback" 14 days after the refund request is made, as no clear timeline for a refund is being provided.  This has been accepted by my CC company previously, but not all experiences are the same.

Nice to see you back, even though it's not good news. Is it just coincidence that there  were talks between the government and P&O just before these announcements were made, and that was the reason for the delay? No Southampton sailings until early February?  That's 5 months! It's the longest P&O have announced at one time. It must have had something to do with the meeting.  It will have been one year since all this began. Still looking positive for  Arcadia's Norway in June 🤞

March 6th cruise on Iona is now the first one available 😀
