It sounds like it will several weeks to submit their plans

I'm sure they have their plans  ready to go. I think they are waiting for CDC to make the first move (cancel the No Sail order or let it expire).

Let's  see what happens October 1st.

Karen

Carnival Pride 11/1/2020.

No one may know for sure when the cruising will be back. Its really hard to predict these days especially with the second wave being forcasted like everyday. I would say that the sooner we get a vaccine, the sooner the cruising will be back on track. All these news and "opinions" are nothing more than forecasting but of a different sort

The first cruises back sound pretty miserable.  You are going to have to study all the rules and the distancing and the mask wearing and the isolation cabins.  Sounds like a blast.  Also no mention of the fact that we have close to 7 million cases of the virus with over 200k deaths and predictions of double that by the end of the year.  Nothing to see here.

Only thing new here is that the new protocols are too difficult for you to grasp but for most they're pretty straightforward wear a mask in designated areas and wash hands frequently.

My question is this:  what happens if someone doesn't have a smart phone? (I do, but I see many who don't)  I have used the hub app (and like it) on Magic and other ships to make your time dining room reservation times, see the menu.   I also do no carry my cell phone around with me all the time while on the ship.  I try to "disconnect" as much as possible while cruising.  While I understand this may be the new normal, and I appreciate them trying to use less paper, have less personal contact, I will not enjoy taking my phone around with me to do everything.

When you say the protocols are to difficult for you, that is calling me stupid.  You are right it has been done in Europe where the numbers aren't nearly what they are in the US and the people are more willing to abide by them instead of thinking wearing a mask is trampling on there freedom.

That wasn't my intention but the comment about studying is over the top. Did you watch any of the the Tour de France? They were a lot of people not wearing masks. The difference with cruising is that if you don't follow the rules you can be put in osolation till the next port then will be escorted off. The cruise all will encorce the rules for this because if not they will be out of business.

The one update that I would hope they add is to be able to request a wait team for your time dining.

The biggest update rcl folks want is messaging which isn't rolled out fleet wide. So you can message your kids, come meet us for dinner or whatever.

How difficult do you think these rules are going to be? I don’t think the rules are going to be so complicated that passengers won’t understand them and I definitely don’t think passengers are going to have to “study” to comprehend them. The questions in my book is will all the passengers comply with these new rules and will Carnival staff enforce these rules, since they have a long history of not enforcing their own rules.

I think we're on the same page here.

Then hopefully it serves as a reminder and a reason why it's important to remain current with technology.

We have been to a few restaurants that didn't have any printed menus so you either had to use your phone or go look at the posted one at the entrance.

I do not have and will never have a cell phone.  I have taken a stand and will not waiver.  I will not become tethered to a device as I see so many people do.

My thing is people cant even follow rules going to the grocery store .... wear a mask . stand  6 feet apart . How are going to follow rules on a ship . They couldnt even follow rules before Covid  like wash your hands before going into the buffet . I  am sure all us of saw many people walk right by the washing stations and go straight in. Yea good luck with having a lot of rules for people to follow.
