Sky Suite and Retreat benefits

I am booking a cruise on the Silhouette in a Sky Suite.  My understanding was that all suites (including Sky Suites) get all the benefits of the Retreat, including Premium Drink Package, etc.  The agent I spoke with this morning said that we need to pay an additional $60 per person per day for the upgraded Retreat benefits (premium drink package, full wi-fi, higher onboard credit) since we are in a Sky Suite, not a higher level suite.  Does this sound right?  If so, Celebrity needs to change how they are presenting this on the website and in emails.

That is not correct. Call back and talk to someone else. We have booked Sky suites in the past and have 3 booked for future cruises. If you have already made the reservation, call One Touch at 844-418-6824. They can fix this.

Other than the uber level suites, PH, Royal...which get all specialty dining included no matter where they eat, the benefits are the same

I called back.  We are booking through the casino desk and are getting a nice discount.  Because we have special pricing, we need to pay $60 per person per day for the upgraded package.  The upgrades come with $300 per person onboard credit, so the actual out of pocket for us for a 9 night cruise is $480 total for both of us.  We don't drink a lot, but we do enjoy good wines and my husband likes good bourbon and whiskey, so the upgrade makes sense to us.

The other things to consider

1) you could upgrade to premium package for $12 pp/pd and both don't have to upgrade

2) In the Retreat Lounge drinks are complimentary and you can generally get anything on the premium package.

Not saying you didn't make the right choice just letting you know other possibilities.

I really like having drink package but even without it drinks are free in suite lounge, we did a short cruise without drink package and just got our drinks there, before dinner we got a large glass of wine from there and took it into Luminae the suite restaurant.

Good point about the drinks in the suite lounge.  Now I have something to think about.  Thanks for mentioning that.  We are also elite, so some of the other perks (laundry and some wi-fi) are included with that.

The lounge is called the Retreat Lounge.

Correct but remember they are not on all ships, some are called. Michaels. Also all benefits are not available on all ships.

Correct. But it's called the Retreat Lounge on the Silhouette and that's the ship the OP is sailing on.

No free stateroom bar.  With penthouse and Royal, you get a few bottles of alcohol.  But you have access to all suite benefits with sky suite and above.  We love the suite lounge, aka Michael's club, and on the Edge and Apex great suite deck-  Other suite decks are a disappointment if you have sailed on edge class.

Of course the suite restaurant so much better then the MDR.

I can’t wait to sail on edge suite, had a cruise canceled, but doubt outside retreat area can be that much better than msc yacht club which has a outstanding outdoor area, and drink package is always included.

Now drink package included with celebrity suites.  Never been on msc, but have read mediocre reviews.  Might try the yacht club someday.  The ncl haven also great, but the rest of the ships very disappointing

I would highly recommend msc yacht club, I will definitely give edge to celebrity suite restaurant over msc yacht club, but lounge is so much nicer it’s huge with a baby grand piano and live music from 5 to 11pm . Butler does more also escorts you off the ship and to shows , free mini bar stocked daily. Had a few negative trips on ncl but haven’t tried haven. Great private island with excellent bar and restaurant service, no buffet , have a menu and waiters

Also, room service drinks are not covered with any drink package.

Is the rest of the ship nice?  Good public space?  On ncl rest of ship, other then the haven was horrible and mobbed

We really liked it we were on one of the newer ships seaside . Buffet had really great pizza which you can get from room service as mentioned no charge for that or drinks . Nice casino but of course smoking is allowed but wasn’t too bad . Good shows in there main theater other music acts throughout the ship and bars including a cool champagne bar and sports bar. But we really spent the overwhelming amount of time in yacht club. Several specialty restaurants and if you are elite on Celebrity or diamond on rccl they will match status and add perks like a free specialty restaurant. Overall much cheaper than celebrity suites, basic room is similar to sky suite. Reserved seats for shows similar to rccl .

We might try.  I assume they leave from Florida and do the Caribbean in the winter
