Interesting they are canceling the Explorer Galveston-San Juan repo October 25.   But they didn’t mention San Juan cancelations.
wonder how long Explorer will stay in Galveston ?

We are on the first Harmony sailing, 15 th of August from Barcelona. Strange to Be on that trip. It s nearly the same as a Virgin sailing after so many month witout passengers.

Doesn't sound like to much fun does it?

I can understand cash being held up because they don't have any but I just don't understand the delay for FCCs.

Yeah, it's an administrative thing.  This FCC was from a cancelled Hawaii cruise which was from a previous years cancelled Hawaii cruise which I took the 125%.  That was before they offered the L and S program.  So apparently it has to be traced back to the original booking or some such thing I can't remember.  I'm not worried I've got a good TA and he is on it.

Do yourself a favor and forgo the 25% and take the cash and apply it to your winter cruise. All these FCC's do is complicate matters.

You can say that again.  I'm still waiting for my TA to give me a reconciliation of FCCs from the cancelled Harmony April, '20 cruise that was applied (+deposits) to the Anthem April '21 which was L&S to Anthem April '22.

This involves 4 cabins.   Along the way, I've received credits to my CC and I can identify some of them as being reimbursements of T&F.

FYI I called to cancel our cruise we had scheduled for September out of PC on the Allure. Agent on the phone was "in full agreement" with my rationale. Quite frankly I don't even know Royal really knows what the heck it is doing right now.  It's moving ships, itineraries, crews, etc. in a game of musical chairs and things changing every other week some due to external forces, some of their own making. I'm opting for certainty and rather plan a family vacay to some all-inclusive in the Caribbean, than to be up in the air not only whether it'll happen or not, but how and what restrictions therein. Hopefully by the end of the year cruises will be back to mostly normal and all the "bugs" worked out.

Oh boy, what a mess, sorry to hear that.  I have been reading comments like this since last year which is why at this point it's time to throw in the towel and take the cash. How many times can people lift a shift? We are talking about postponing the same cruise another year.

And this is what I was referring to when I made the statement that FCCs get complicated.

SAME!  We were in JS 9638 on Indy. It's the fact that they won't move the Cruise Planner stuff over that will kill me though.  We had the Beach Club for $38.99 per person! Wifi surf & stream for $8.99 per person per day.  Prices for my other cruises are showing Wifi is double that--now that the Memorial Day 'sale' is over.

What a shame, that is an Incredible price for the Beach Club and also for WiFi.

I am talking to our Travel Agent and he is being told that the Independence of the Seas for July 3rd is being moved to the Odyssey of the Seas  for July 6th on the same itinerary.  I was more then glad to shift and lift to a brand new ship with the same itinerary.  Until I see it on my account I will not believe it.  Please let me know if this is the case.

~ Just got off another call with RCCL ,

So our July 25 out of Miami / is now on the Odyssey out of Fort Lauderdale .

Which is a bit of a ??? Inconvenience being We have a flight and hotel coming into Miami a day early ! As well as their unable to tell us yet if our Excursions are being carried over !

I'm sure people are excited to be cruising again .

Guess you could say We are just waiting to see where we end up , one way or another !

Hope everyone's having a  nice night !

I called Royal this morning as soon as the lines opened at 9am U.K. time and did a L&S on our August Rhapsody cruise to August 2022. I got through quickly but the L&S took much longer than last year . The problem in my case was sorting out the £1pp promo flights . It wasn’t a problem last year when I did the L&S.  Still waiting for a correct invoice ( have had 3 so far and all wrong) but have had e mail confirmation that the flight promo will be honoured. The taxes and fees remained unchanged.

Miami and Ft Lauderdale are not far from each other.  Just be thankful it isnt Tampa or Galveston.

Not that far from each other, keep your flight and hotel, download Uber into your cell phone and just call an Uber.

This is ridiculous. Make final payment, have cruise canceled, wait for refund.

No more cruising for us until they get straight or the CSO is canceled.

There are other options that are less stressful.

Yep - that's exactly what I plan to do with my November Oasis L&S cruise.  I will make final payment in August and then not even worry about what happens.  If they cancel, I will get my money back and have a nice Florida vacation and go see a Miami Dolphins game.

Interested in this also as we have explorer booked for December and also vision for October, both out of San Juan.  Could this possibly indicate that explorer will stay in Galveston and take over the adventure sailings that are supposed to start end of October? The dates seem to line up. Maybe adventure will end up in San Juan after the Nassau sailings... Who knows at this point

I was booked on Freedom out of Port Liberty on July 22 to Bermuda. RCL cancelled it yesterday. If you can believe a full 6 hours (that is correct 6 wasted hours on hold although I did multi task) to be bounced around from reservations to Casino Royale back to reservations back to Casino, I was finally able to talk to someone and in 5 minutes my lift and shift was done. Next July 2022 same trip only on Adventure.

I am so excited! We had a JS on Indy, so if we get moved to same category on Odyssey, that is a great ship change for us, at a great price savings.

Same for us.  We did a JS because they had the double points promotion going. So we get 4 points per night now. So now we are on a JS on Odyssey.

Just saw on my profile my 5-day Explorer out of Galveston in October has been canceled.    TA can’t assist yet, as Indy will be taking the Explorer place in October 2021.   Yet they are still working to cancel the old Indy itineraries,

Does anybody know why all the cancellations ? Is it a shortage of vaccinated employees ?

Probably partially and the cruise line is working on it, but probably the main issue is that CDC is only allowing test cruises for a limited number of ships at a time.  And to sail from the U.S. the cruise lines must conduct test cruises.  So the ships that have permission for the earliest test cruises are the ones that will sail with passengers first from U.S. ports (Indy, Odyssey, Symphony, Mariner, Freedom).  Other ships will slowly be given permission to do their test cruises and then be able to sail with paying passengers.  Also, they are starting with limited ports--so Miami/Ft Lauderdale, Galveston.
