Clarasgrandma Posted June 7, 2021 #35 Share Posted June 7, 2021 I really like the stuffed portobello mushrooms that’s served as a main course in MDR and I’m not normally a mushroom person but they are so good! Also like the grilled shrimp and lobster. I’ve never asked for the non-vegetarian Indian but plan to on my next cruise. (I really liked the Tandoori restaurant that was on the Magic a few years ago....wish they still had that. The food was our favorite! ) The strawberry bisque is my favorite cold soup. I also like the pumpkin soups...I think there’s two versions and both are good. Melting cake and the banana splits are probably my two fav desserts. Can not wait for the chance to try the new breakfast items on seadays. Our last ship didn’t have that new menu yet. I really like the homemade granola. It’s easy to put in a baggie and save for a snack later.

Since it's been a couple of years since I answered a similar question... my MDR favorites are the prime rib, short ribs, and spare ribs. Kind of a theme there, I know. 😀
19cruiser59 Posted June 7, 2021 #39 Share Posted June 7, 2021 The lobster tails on formal night are pretty good, and you can order multiple if you want, which makes them even better!

We even got involved in the Parade the day before! Suckers....

Interesting thing is we don't like the mushroom appetizer Carnival serves. The Portobello is another story altogether. Sometimes we order the Crispy Portobello with its excellent sauce for an appetizer and still have room for a main. The Portobello is only served one evening of a 7 night cruise but it's worth keeping an eye out for it 🙂

PlanoDebbie Posted June 8, 2021 #48 Share Posted June 8, 2021 I wish they would offer vegetarian options in other categories besides Indian. I can't stand the smell of curry, but would love to have a Chinese veggie stir-fry with tofu.

Sometimes they like challenges like that and might make special arrangement for that Vietnamese chef-guy who also paints the hulls - and who makes The Real Thing from the Mekong Delta region! He lives on Deck B -about 15 ft. below sea level.
