Does Royal have any way to earn points toward member benefits without sailing?

Recommended Posts

I get various emails from Celebrity where I can do different things to earn benefit points at home and I was wondering if Royal does this also because I need one point to reach the next highest level.

Not for applying to C&A levels, however there's a free Facebook game called 'My Vegas Slots" where you earn rewards that can be used towards discounts off cruises, OBC, and casino free play.

RCI tried it one time and I recall it was about $400 per point (bought stuff on board), but discontinued it after a short time.

Yikes that's rather expensive given about what I've spent per a point. (Admittedly price is #1 for me.) About half that or less. I've gone on more than one 3 night cruise for less than $400.

It was on Freedom. Around same time they tested the beer dispenser

People actually do spend money on a cruise😉

This just incentivized it

Royal Caribbean does not have a similiar marketing to earn points without sailing. I wish they did since I am three points from Diamond Plus. The Celebrity program has not helped me since I am about 1800 points from Zenith which is my next tier.......

They sure do, but it is costly.  Book a cruise, pay for it in full, do not show up and sail on it, you still get the points to more up in your Crown and Anchor status.

Unfortunately not.  You must sail in order to get the points.

While you can't do what you describe, you could disembark at the first port (if it doesn't break PVSA or other rules) and get all the points.

I haven’t been one to chase points, but when we needed a few more to make diamond + I booked a cruise. I got a super deal on an aft jr suite so it was a win win for us. I also did it because our next cruise was going to be a TA with a B2B Baltic cruise, unfortunately due to covid those didn’t happen. 😢

I have only received a few of the extra points from Celebrity. I won’t do anything that calls for FB or a lot of the other things I just don’t bother with.

Wow, I did not know that.  That's stingy...

Do you know how many people would be buying points? A lot of them have the money, but they just don’t have the time.

I thought you had to cruise each day to get the points.

We would have made Diamond+ on any of the dozen or so RCCLcruises that they have cancelled on us since March 2020.  We are now hoping for September, October,  November  or several in 2022.  We are ready!  On topic, our spending on HAL cruises adds points to our mariner status.
