Walking kids through Solarium

Recommended Posts

Royalup just moved us to an 1100’s room on the AOS which is one of 6 rooms right near the Solarium.  We have 2 kids.  Is it allowed to walk our kids through the Solarium or do we have to go up and round to get to the pool deck/windjammer?

Children can definitely walk through the solarium!

They can even eat at the bistro for breakfast and lunch, too, in case you want to avoid the windjammer zoo. The only things frowned upon for kids are lingering/loitering outside the bistro and at supper time.

Yes, there's no issue at all just walking through.  That's mighty nice of you to ask!  I hate to think of the oddball route you would need to take to get between your cabin and the main pool.

You've evoked some fond memories of us cruising with our kids when they were younger.  We would walk through the Solarium from time to time when we those stairs were closer.  We called it the "adult napping pool" or something like that because, well, that was largely true! 🤣

when are you traveling? If unvaccinated people are not allowed in the Solarium during your sailing, you may have a problem with walking kids through it. You may want to look at the current/recent sailings and see if Solarium was off limits to unvaxxed kids.

This is Adventure it doesn't have the same restrictions as the Freedom and other Florida ships.

I believe the OP is going on the Adventure which doesn’t have a Bistro.

for me, AOS may also mean the Allure.

Yup, some even call the Anthem AOS.

In this case, the OP mentioned walking through the solarium to get to the 1100 rooms - that would definitely be the Adventure.

Kids can even use the Solarium pool on certain ships...certain times during inclimate weather.

Not with current covid protocol on most ships, if children are unvaccinated.

Unvaxxed are not permitted in solarium on most sailings.

I am not sure about the adventure sailings out of bahamas.

When you recently sailed on Adventure did they allow unvaccinated children to walk thru solarium?

How can they possibly stop kids from walking through...Are they going to stop them from being in or walking through other indoor venue's ??? I think not.

I'm not sure about adventure sailing out of nassau bahamas but freedom currently sailing out of FL and other sailing protocols that have been released so far say Solarium is for vaccinated passengers only and wrist bands are supposed to be checked at entry points.

Same goes for casino, only vaxxed allowed to enter.

Plenty of threads on here discussing the various venues that will be vaxxed only.

Not sure that unvaxxed will be allowed to walk thru.

We’re in 1104 on the AOS in May.  I’m having a really hard time finding pictures of those rooms, so do you mind posting some pictures when you come back?  I’d really appreciate it.

Yes, planning to grab some.  I found this video of 1106 on the Indy which I think it's similar.  Looks like a great size and unique balcony.

We are on Adventure but I"ll be sure to check in to restrictions for our 7 year old who isn't Vaxxed yet.  From what I've seen so far it's probably just masks and social distancing restrictions for her.

I was recently on the Adventure. Walked through the Solarium with a child often. Other parents with children did , too. There are no check points on the ship.

Thanks ... glad you were able to put this to rest for those that contradicted this policy. I just couldn't see how they would prevent kids from walking through the Solarium.

They are allowing unvaccinated on Serenade into the Solarium.  I'm confused about this too because vaccination is required for 12 and up and Solarium is for 16 and up.  I don't understand why it isn't listed as a vaxxed only venue.
