May be related to legal/liability/cost concerns as well.  If that person was to get ill people would be clambering how could Celebrity let them back on.

Alternately, continue testing. People could say the same thing about close contacts being allowed to remain aboard.  Both should be allowed.

last night we had dinner in Tuscan Grill at 6:30 and we got a table by the aft window. I counted the number of people having dinner  at 15 total including us. A 8:15 when we left there were a few more who came in after the 7pm show.

I had the calamari appetizer and it was good. Then had the arugula and goat cheese salad which was excellent.  Our Entrees were the Veal Marsala, which was one of best Marsalas I can remember. Overall a great dinning experience. However the service was not on par with Luminae or Murano and i would skip Tuscan for another night in Luminae or Murano.

For the wine followers, I tried the Primitivo from Puglia Italy. It wad $14.50 by the glass and very nice. We love wines from Puglia Italy region.

Terry, was there much going on in Celebrity Central on your cruise? I know on the Edge the venue known as The Club, which we were really impressed with, has definitely become the center of entertainment outside the main theater, to include a variety of game shows, movies and other forms of entertainment, being conducted there daily. The Edge also had between 5-6 assistants to the CD to keep folks entertained. How was it on the Equinox?

There has been some form of live entertainment going on during late afternoons and evenings including dancing. We haven't spent a lot of time there however.

I stand corrected,  I got the decimal point wrong math was never my strongest subject. Compare .3% to areas in the US currently with a positivity rate over 10%. So we are indeed in a safe environment.

I totally agree that it is safer here than back home. I am one of the people wearing a mask indoors since they asked me to do that after quarantine until I have my final test (tomorrow).

How crowded is the Craft Social area during the evening when there is entertainment in the atrium, please? That is usually my go to spot after the early show. Also, what kind of music are they playing in the evening in the atrium? We have enjoyed several Abba, Eagles and Beatles tributes there in past 3 or 4  years.

A tip, do not order scrambled eggs for breakfast on room service. Had them this morning and it was the weirdest concoction and totally tasteless.

You have to mention to your waiter or butler that you want 'real' eggs. Our waiter could not exactly tell us that the eggs were powdered, but he said to us "You want 'real' eggs, right ?" I did not know there was anything but real eggs., except in food storage reserve preppers.

They’re probably using dried egg powder. This product was originally developed for the military. Not sure when, but my grandfather initially encountered them while serving in the marines in the 1930s.

More likely to be pasteurized egg product in liquid form these days.

Doesn’t sound like they were fresh eggs but rather the carton mix eggs that they use. We had a waiter years ago tell us to always ask for fresh eggs.

we always Just write it on our room service order, ask our waiter or ask in the buffet at the egg station.
Hope that trick may help.

Does anyone know the range or time that trigger the tracer bracelets or is that confidential? May have to be extra antisocial on our cruise...

All I know is that they’re following the CDC definition of “close contact”, which is a bit ridiculous IMO. I just returned from Wegmans (in which most adults were properly masked, but there were a lot of unmasked children). I spent about 40 minutes in the store, which was fairly crowded (holiday weekend). I encountered several people repeatedly, so I’d imagine I had a cumulative 15-minutes with a couple of them. If one of them tested positive, and we were aboard a Celebrity ship, I would be considered a “close contact”. I find that sobering. Based on multiple live reviews, very few Celebrity “close contacts” test positive (perhaps a dozen out of all the X cruises since restart), which makes Celebrity’s quarantine after the first negative test seem like overkill.

https://www.cdc.gov/quarantine/cruise/covid19-operations-manual-cso.html#passenger-screening-testing

Close Contact through Proximity and Duration of Exposure: Someone who was within 6 feet of an infected person (laboratory-confirmed or a clinically compatible illness) for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period (for example, three individual 5-minute exposures for a total of 15 minutes). An infected person can spread SARS-CoV-2 starting from 2 days before they have any symptoms (or, for asymptomatic patients, 2 days before the positive specimen collection date), until they meet criteria for discontinuing home isolation.

We found out while in the Retreat Lounge that the current Covid outbreak was traced back to the Martini bar and that 4 bartenders are quarantined. Doesn't surprise me since there is no social distancing there during busy times.

We were told that 15 minutes is the guidelines the ship is using with the tracelets for being around a positive person. The secret is to not stay in one place more than 15 minutes.

Right, but did they tell you 15-minute blocks of time or 15 minutes of cumulative time? I’d have to hunt it down, but I’m pretty sure a poster on another cruise was given the latter description (which matches the CDC). The former would be preferable, but still impossible unless one never dines in the restaurants.

What are they doing in the casinos?  Do they limit the amount of players at each table?  Also, not a smoker, but if a smoker is quarantined can they smoke on their balcony?  I am on this same cruise Nov 7 with a couple that the wife smokes is why I am asking.

Also --- our butler  previously told us if we wanted Eggs Benedicta to just write it on the door hanger.

Would that give the eggs the odd texture that Terry and BeachMike described?

It doesn't have to, but I'd guess the texture and taste is down to oven baking and a lack of seasoning.

Either way, just ask for the fresh eggs and the problem should be resolved.

I will be asking for the fresh eggs tomorrow for sure, even in an omelet.

I had scrambled "eggs" this morning.  One bite.  Thanks for the fresh egg hack.  I usually order poached or fried and didn't know the scrambled stuff was so tasteless until today.

I am glad you are out of jail and that I am not the only one that thinks the scrambled eggs are terribly inedible.
