Royal Caribbean World Cruise

Recommended Posts

Well that was a surprising e-mail to receive.  274 nights, 7 continents aboard Serenade of the Seas starting December 2023 ending September 2024!  With an incredible itinerary, it will take a couple of hours to take it all in.  A surprise indeed!

From what I’ve worked out.
4 segments , which can be done individually .
All inclusive ,tours, washing,Internet, booze, hotel accommodation and business class flights.

You have to be platinum or above.
Looks like good value.

What is the cheapest cabin pp $200,000 ?

It will certainly be interesting to watch.  Basically RCI has no experience with long duration cruises except for the repositioning voyages.  Their business model, crew training etc is based on weekly turnaround, port intensive cruises.  Even the sectors are at least twice if not three times their current longest cruises.  It took them a while to settle into the longer, more sea days cruises out of Sydney.  World cruisers have a completely different mindset as to what they want to get out of a world cruise experience as do the crew.  Fascinating!

Someone said the whole cruise ,274 nights from $US40,000.PP

So Whats that work out ? About $AU 200 a night and all inclusive.

The table up above shows (after discount), $USD55,000 pp inside.

My little converter told me that is approaching $AUD75,000.

Of course , there should be various age, service, previous cruise discounts.

Good value then, with business class air fares (if inc from Australia) tours, booze.

Half the price of Coral Princess 22/23 worldies, which is cruise only.

So that’s about $300 a night still not bad.

I think the price I quoted was for 3 who lived in Florida.

I would be interested in one leg from Dubai to Barcelona, the rest would be to much.

Tis the full monty at a good price.  If I could afford, bearing in mind as a solo traveller it would cost me

$160,000 for a balcony cabin, ouch.! I would need to sell my house, lol. I will stick with this next week..the whale watch cruise from Eden, sea state permitting.

Australia circumnavigation is not a long cruise? 30+ days. I've no idea how many kilometres/miles that is but it's a long way and longer if you add a repositioning before or after.

To much for me uncle Les,  both money and time.

Not every cruise is the same, some aren’t as good as others.

So 174 days and what if you didn’t like it?

A bad cabin ,you had a illness, some of the people didn’t agree with you.

Not to mention the Royal Caribbean cougars, they can get a bit rowdy.
We would be both skin and bones.

A month or so would be enough.

Hi

i got the RC email this morning and it was sent to Diamond members as well.

A bit too long for me…imagine the price of the travel insurance??

eileen

There’s 4 segments but I believe they are trying to sell the whole cruise first.

The segments will be on offer later and I think the price may come down.

In 2012, we did 50 days on Arcadia, Sydney to Southampton. It was great, but glad to get off, 3 to 4 weeks for me is long enough.  I have done several 30 dayer's.

It's certainly a very long cruise but it does cover each region in some depth.

I wouldn't like to do it in an inside cabin though. On a cruise of that length there would probably be days where you just want to stay in your cabin, perhaps not feeling well or just need a break fron the shipboard routine. We did the 35 night Hawaii/Tahiti cruise in an inside cabin and after that I wouldn't do a long cruise in an inside cabin again. We both had days where we stayed in the cabin - I had a migraine one day, and Rolf caught a cold and spent a couple of days in the cabin. Not having access to fresh air was an issue.

We loved the 35 night cruise and would love to do a world cruise but not one that long.
