I don't see any reason they would suddenly take the OBC away on the cruise I used the certificate on.  If they do, there is something very wrong with that.

Agree...we're with you...but if and when you apply your certificate, and you are able to keep any your OBC's, please kindly let us know.

Per Crown & Anchor, gentleman named Otto, said yesterday that certificates "must be used 6 months after attaining Pinnacle and we are currently working on allowing the certificates to be used beyond the one year expiration date."  When I asked when...he said "soon".

Sigh.  Maybe you should call again, and ask they review the terms and conditions.  This is what the D+ desk did for me: actually read them out loud over the phone.  It said 12 months.

I have just applied a Pinnacle Certificate for the 3rd time (cancelled Cruises).
It was extended twice, as we have had 2 seasons cancelled in Australia, and we couldn't leave the country until 2 months ago.
I had to email 'Executive Escalations', after I didn't heard back from C&A (a whole month).
They approved it, even though the cruise is after the current sail by date.

TP in October, if it goes ahead.:)

Edit to say the Certificate comes with the other stuff.

I am going to use the 2400 to draw down the balance of the next final I have to pay, of which I will still owe plenty to pay it off.  😉

I also have had no problems at all with applying the 100 OBC to all of my booked cruises, and have them booked all the way into 2023.  Usually see it posted in my cruise planner within two days tops, plus they always send me a new confirmation.

Will do the same thing probably on two Wonder cruises we have in December 2022 and February 2023.  We may even use for an upgrade.  That is if we stay on the glide path to Pinnacle and don't miss any more cruises.

You will my friend.  I learned a long time ago to "never say never".  😉

Certificates cannot be used on ships 1 year old or less...if I'm not mistaken, Wonder will be 1 year old until March of 2023.  As you said, you can upgrade...Congratulations in advance. 🙂

Wonder was just delivered to RCI yesterday but they must be working off its first sailing (is that in March?)  If they let me upgrade, I will be just fine.  Our February cruise is already in a JS and that would be an upgrade from the certificate, which is based on an Ocean View balcony.  If not, we'd use it for a summer cruise.

Do you get 2 certificates if you are a couple?  I thought you could only use it on one sailing and don't get any excess if you don't spend it all

I am trying to plan my next "freebie" and cannot remember what is deducted from the fare. I do remember the hassle converting to CDN funds but, let's see if I have this right . . .

they will deduct C&A balcony discount? what about the usual 30% off ? NextCruise offers?

Any reduction now that I will be solo on this one?

TIA

The first revenue sailing for Wonder is 03/04/22. You can use your Pinnacle Certificate on any sailing 365 days after that on Wonder. For some reason when your connected to C&A Resolutions they think the first revenue run is 4/4/22. I had to educate them on the 3/4/22 date. They were then able to give me the Wonder I wanted March 2023 since it was over 365 days. No other offers for OBC are allowed except for the Shareholder OBC which has already been applied. I was able to add a 3rd to the cabin it was only $728.01 more and with the other 2 port/taxes cabin total was $996.03. Not bad for a cabin that is listing out at $4,164.03 as a triple OCC.

Your best bang for the buck is to use it on a ship like Wonder in the Caribbean where you get the Balcony deal over the $2400 credit to a cruise in another region.

You cannot use your balcony discount, or use the certificate to pay port taxes, gratuities, or Cruise Planner purchases.  Not instant savings, either.

All other C&A discounts can be applied, as well as senior and resident discounts.

Yes, you can also use DP340 for a solo discount.  DP340 can be used on any cruise.  Regarding the % off second passenger:  that is factored when applying the DP340 solo discount, and whichever gets you the lowest price, that's the one you get.  This applies to any cruise where you apply DP340.

We have a February 26, 2023 WN cruise that is about a week too early for March 4, 2023.  Will have to book something for later in the year.

Thanks -- can you apply the Pinnacle $2,400 credit to a cruise that you book using a Next Cruise Certificate (I bought one last week as I didn't have an idea of what we and the couple we cruise with want to do later in 2023?

I almost positive you can, because you can use other FCC's with the Pinn cert.  Just remember, no port taxes, balcony discount, or tips are covered by the cert.  Add those into the total, and then subtract your $2,400.

I'm going to book mine on board a ship, leave it as-is, and then after I get the Pinn cert, have them re-do the total.

Can the cruise be any length and destination?

The cruise can be any length or destination.  The freebie only applies to a 7 night cruise.  Other than that, they apply the dollar amount of the Pinnacle certificate.

Hi, I am also from Melbourne, Australia. I turned Pinnacle on Navigator of Seas in

March 2022. I haven’t received Pinnacle Kit yet, heard is backlog. Plus have not been able use my Pinnacle free cruise as haven’t received yet, have emailed C&A few times and waiting for reply. I am a senior solo and not sure how cost of ‘free’ cruise would be calculated with t&cs.

@JessicaB, you do not need to wait for the "kit" or the certificate.  Just call the regular C&A number and ask for the Pinnacle specialist.  They have you in the system, and know that you are eligible for that free cruise.  They will happily book it for you.

Unfortunately here in Australia we do not have a C&A phone no. to call, even emailing C&A Department goes to Reservations Department then escalated to C&A department - where I have been waiting for reply since June.😚

I have found they are very responsive via the fa ce site for "RC C&A society". It was tricky to find initially.  It comes up as a private members club.  Type the words ^^ in full - apart from the &.

Useful to know you can ask them to apply the certificate in this way - we're turning pinnacle next month and I was planning to use the certificate for a cruise in May next year but was getting nervous about how long it would take to show up!

Presumably as soon as your C&A account shows your pinnacle then you can do this? No real rush, but wondering if there's a length of time to wait for?

That is what I did.  Was easy peasy.
