We were on Harmony last week, and the beef in Park Cafe' was cooked between medium and medium rare - nice and crusty on the outside, light pink on the inside, and no hint of red.

But did you get sick for 3 days. Lol.

What's this statement have to do with the OP question, the sailing referring to was 6 weeks ago but whatever.

More than anticipating cheerleader comments😉

My overall statement answered the OP's question. The last sentence was merely a disclaimer

We were on Oasis December 5 and Harmony in BOTH November and January😉

You will find that the more you post on CC the more likely you are to encounter idiots who can only post that way.

I think she was referring to them as the cheerleaders of Royal..........and if they were complaining it must have been REAL BAD  because they usually think Royal does everything outstanding and never  does anything wrong.

Pretty sure this is the first mention of Cheerleaders 😉

When a Pinnacle Crown and Anchor Member is mentioned in any thread, it's pretty  much given that person is a Cheerleader for Royal Caribbean, otherwise no one one would  go on that many cruises or spend that much time and money on the same Cruise Line if they weren't a cheerleader for the cruise line.  But that's okay if that is what they want to do, but don't get all uptight if someone doesn't think the same as you and  then blast the poster's who say things you don't agree with.

I'm Diamond Plus, but no way will we ever get to Pinnacle, to many other lines,  new ships  to  see and go on. I never want to do that many cruises with the same cruise line, just to many other exciting things to do out there.

There is nothing wrong with your question and nothing wrong with sharing your experience & that of your husband.

I guess is that there are not enough people of ships to hog chairs, smoke in the casino, smuggle fake service animals onboard and apparently people are dressing appropriately and not crowding the loyalty lounges so people need something to make fun of. Today it was you, tomorrow it might be me.

If you say so.

It's usually considered a derogatory reference

Interesting...then how would you characterize someone who is top tier on every line they've cruised? I guess they would be characterized as being a cheerleader for cruising in general then, because there are a lot of us that fit that category...

Whatever answer you get on here people are going to say your husband didn't get sick from the rare beef, they are going to say he got sick from something else before he boarded the ship.

Because that will mean Royal did something wrong and that is not a nice thing to say about Royal on these boards.

If the beef was under cooked and got him sick it would’ve made many others sick too.  Imagine how many people eat those sandwiches daily.  Even one undercook piece would probably make at 50-100 sandwiches and thus a lot of passengers ill.

There are many other things that can make one sick too so it is usually very difficult to know.  Add to this that if you tour the kitchen you see how systematic they are and you will see how they check internal temperatures.  I doubt the rareness was an issue although anything is possible.  Maybe the sliced meat spoiled from improper maintenance while being served.  Or maybe it was a contaminated vegetable or salad where it can be impossible to see.  But I would seriously doubt it was the rareness of the beef.  If it was too rare for my liking (which I’ve seen plenty) I personally wouldn’t touch it.  Can’t stand very rare meat, but I do realize people eat it near raw all the time with no issues.

Hi there. For anyone who has sailed lately after 12-5-21 and who have eaten at the Park Cafe and has had the roast beef sandwiches, can you tell me has the beef been RARE? When we sailed on 12-5-21 the beef was so rare my husband chocked and was sick for 3 days. We have sailed before on oasis and it was never that rare. Just curious. The sandwich is amazing but rare is icky.  Thank you for all your help!

Lorraine

More medium rare to me.  YMMV as would the roast beefs...

Thank you. I was just curious we sail Sunday on Harmony. We love park cafe and is usually the first place we go ❤️

Just try it.  You won’t know from what it was like in December or now.  I’ve enjoyed many of these sandwiches, but if it looks to rare I just ask for an end piece.

And you don’t even need to be top tier to be a cheerleader.  Us in the DP category (and other varying levels on other lines) do plenty of it too.  What can I say, I like cruising in general and overall I love the RCL product.  Although I am happy to criticize when due.

We were on Symphony otS for 2 weeks in November and my son and I each had several Beef sandwiches at the park Cafe.  We always requested medium rare and were never disappointed or sick.  Hopefully it was just a bad coincidence for the sufferer.  We are on Harmony for 14 days in March.

Not quite.  I don't know how or why her husband got sick. And anyone that wishes to speculate if it was before or after he boarded is, well, just speculating.   But rare meat doesn't actually cause three days of illness.  If the meat was that bad, cooking it to well done wouldn't likely make it any better.   Did he gag on a piece of meat that was underdone? Sure.  Have I often seen the roast beef sandwich served on the VERY rare side? Absolutley!  Is there a mechanism by which eating undercooked sliced roast beef (we're not talking about ground beef here) is causing three days of illness?  I really don't know, I'd have to check with a doctor. Oh, wait....
