n6uqqq:  Thanks so much for the info, as it worked for us!!  We are sailing next week and have not heard if our OBS was accepted, as we have not heard since submitting last week.  Called and spoke to a Carnival Rep who stated they have a back log from 4/1/22 thru today.  She offered to help and add ours to our account, and she did! Customer service at it's best!

I am pretty sure I am on your same cruise departing May 2. I will try calling tomorrow if I haven't heard anything by then.

I was denied, but it was back in December and I have heard recently that others have had better luck. I recently applied for an upcoming cruise so we shall see...

Received our confirmation tonight for three cruises submitted a couple of weeks ago (September, January, and April)  The cruises in January and April were booked with the special codes during the 50th birthday sales which were 50% off the cruise fare.  Was shocked to see that they applied credit for all three cruises!

I emailed our stockholder info to shareholders@carnival.com last night 4/20 at 7:30pm PT for our May Carnival cruise -- and received the approval email this morning 4/21 at 4:40am PT.

(Turnaround in 9 hours 10 minutes!)

So I literally just got off the phone with Carnival using the number and extension scorpioncrawl provided.  Rep who answered said they are only up to requests from April 5 - I emailed mine on the 7th.  She said they are swamped with requests, getting over 100 a day, and are way behind.  She asked for my email, looked me up and saw my info, but refused to process it herself.  Also said that if I don't hear in a week to call back.

Don't you hate it when they will not do what they could easily do? Now if you have to call back, more time on hold for you and one more customer service representative tied up so others can hold longer.

This will be my first time requested shareholder OBC - 2 questions:

Can I apply before cruise is paid in full?

I already have OBC on the cruise, will they add on top of it? Was booked Early saver, but not much discount (maybe $40)

Yes.  I just received confirmation of credit for cruises in September, January and next April.  None are paid off at this point.

Yes, it is added on to any credit you already have.  Once it is applied you can see it under the Booking & Order Tab, by clicking on "view balance details."

I sent mine on April 4 and received the confirmation on Tuesday (19th).  Hopefully you will get yours soon.

I hate it when line jumpers cut in front of me.

This is not the same; the caller being approved does not at all negatively affect when your approval will come through. In fact, if he or she was ahead of you in the line, you just moved up.

I posted this on another thread, but will re-post here.  I will re-apply closer to my January cruise.

"I was rejected for my January 2022 and February 2022 cruises.  On 4/7 I sent an email in for my June 2022 and January 2023 cruises.  Last night (10 pm) I received one email approving my June cruise, and then a second email  immediately after rejecting my January cruise. I had the same casino offer for both cruises, and both cruises were listed on the same email I sent Carnival.  I wish Carnival would get their heads out of their butts!"

This is the second email I received:

Thank you for submitting your shareholder brokerage statement.

Regrettably, we are unable to process your request to apply the shareholder benefit with the referenced reservation.

In accordance with the terms of the shareholder onboard credit benefit, reservations with a reduced rate promotion do not qualify for the onboard credit. While it may have been inadvertently accepted in the past, we are now adhering to the conditions of the shareholder program.  We sincerely apologize for any disappointment this has caused and trust, that as a Carnival investor, you will understand our position in this matter.

Thank you for your continued support.  We look forward to welcoming you on board!

Thank you for choosing Carnival.

Sincerely,

Erica Walden
