Pt Canaveral currently holds the title as busiest cruise port in the world.  Makes sense to give her a fitting ship for the weekend market.

It also holds the title for the smallest amount of parking.  🤣

Can you imagine how bad it will get with the two biggest OA class using T1?

Agree.  Since Icon is so geared towards family cruising, it's a much better fit for sailing out of the family oriented tourist area of PC/Orlando.  Utopia should go to a more adult oriented port.

Utopia is just a rehash of Oasis

Icon is unique

That happened a while back.  Forgot exactly when but for a short time it was 3 ships sailing out of there and parking was a cluster.  Read about it on here

Terminal 3 has decent parking.

FWIW, Terminal A in Miami kinda sux as well

Already eyeing Brightline for the Icon inaugural.

Brightside makes more sense for us. The airport is on the way to Miami from Ocala.

You'd have to back track.

Laura may be taking it to Miami for an NCL charter in March.

Where do you pickup the Brightline?  Orlando Airport right?  If so might be easier to catch a flight down?  Or not? I know it's not convenient to my location

The Orlando airport experience leaves a lot to be desired and parking isn't cheap.

The Oasis class of ships are my favourite and Utopia will be shiny new.  Icon is just going to be a floating amusement park for misbehaved children.  No thanks!

Terminal C is a ghost town, and parking through Brightline is around $7 a day

Driving to Miami is also bad. It’s the primary reason I tend not to look at cruises from there. With Icon, oh well, Miami is it. Hope Icon 2 is closer like PC 😀

Yea, I know all that. My point is Icon is different and generates more buzz, so they like that in Miami

Utopia will be packed with kids as well.

FWIW, they'll both be shiny and new for a while

Thank you!  That is just a shame.  I will never do a short cruise again. Why would they have this beautiful new ship do that? Perhaps to show the people who take a 3/4 day cruise how wonderful the ship is and increase their desire to take a longer cruise?

Not a shame for those of us that love 3 night cruises, and take them often. It will eventually get moved around.

I guess I'll have to pick up the slack for all the non short cruise peeps.  SIGH!!😱  I probably be the oldest party animal onboard😇

I will help pick up the slack... I cannot wait.

I understood that part, although for all I know you really are a party animal. 🤷‍♀️

I wasn't kidding about us though. 🙈

I really didn't find our Indy short cruises in July all that different from 7-nighters in the summer. There were still lots of kids, the Solarium was still the Solarium, trivia was trivia, etc. Maybe if we actually went where the party animals go I'd notice, lol.

47 here, and absolutely no partying for me!! I love the 3 night cruises, and rarely have even 1 alcoholic beverage each trip.

They are adding parking in anticipation of Allure sailing form PC in November.  We could see the construction when we sailed on Indy a few weeks ago.  I think they will be adding about 400 spaces in the first round and then an additional 200 in the second round.  Also the other RCI ships like Mariner (being replaced by Adventurer) and Jewel sail from another terminal.

No Star Loft Suites ?

Doesn't appear so.

She is very much Wonder-like with a few changes like the new SO Star Class Suites on the bridge wings like the Oasis UP.

Lol.  I guess I hadn’t realized that Wonder was missing the SLS, too !
