I just remembered something I wanted to share.

We arrived at the airport  (FLL) around 8:30ish am.  Our flight was for 12:03pm

When we arrived at the United counter to check in the lady goes

"another cruise couple"

I looked confused, (My normal what the H*** do you mean look).

She goes what time is your flight....................

"We are not permitting travelers to sit and wait at the gate FOREVER anymore".

She looks at our boarding pass, and goes

"Oh, Ok, your not THAT early".

So, I wonder if this is something new.

Or

Was she appointed a new position in her own mind, and wanted to show authority,

I was nice and just behaved.

Now had she not let us check in, well.......................

I would try to be nice.

I remember one time at FLL when I was flying SW they had a sign up that luggage could not be checked in sooner than 4 hrs prior to flight time. I don't know if that still exists.

it still does. Spirit wouldn't take our luggage outside of the 4 hour window.

Considering that their luggage drop-off line is about an hour long sometimes....

We ran into that 4 hour window with SW in the past.  That’s why we would either do a day use hotel, or stay an extra day and fly early the next day.

This trip was easy, because we had a 10:35 direct flight, and we had plenty of time to spare after walking off.

And I didn’t even have to start a “can I make a 10:35 flight?” Thread. 🤔

Hope you’re feeling well.  DS was on your cruise and just tested positive.  I can’t say I’m surprised from all the reports lately.  So far it’s just cold symptoms.

There’s no reporting post cruise covid but I’m guessing it’s a lot.  It won’t stop us from going in July but we may mask up. I was exposed last week at work but we were both wearing masks so I’m good so far anyway.

By the way, they had a great time so they think it was worth it! They’ll just now have another long weekend off from work.

We ran into the wait game when we were coming back home from San Juan. The ticket agent said it was too early for them to take our bags and we had to wait 30 minutes. I thought 30 minutes you just can't them now?

So far we are healthy, but hearing over 35 from a group we did not join in are positive.

Now it may seem like a lot, but there were over 5,000 cruisers on board.

But, I do not know how many crew and others not in group are now positive.

I guess no one will know.

Take care

We are both negative with no symptoms.  We did join in the pub crawl with that group, and I read that several of them got it.

Plus, we had one couple from that group sitting at our table for a few nights in the MDR.  Don’t know which table the belonged at, because they were bouncing around to different ones.  Anyhow, the last couple nights they moved to the next table over to join another couple.  I thought it was odd that about an hour after dinner on the last night, we walked by their cabin, and one of the “raincoat people” was at their door with a test kit.

I can’t believe their symptoms would appear that fast, or that they needed to get their last night of dining in before getting tested!
