Since Viking so often offers highly discounted or free airfare, I’ve come to the conclusion that airfare is basically always built into the original price to some degree. So if you are not getting some kind of airfare deal, you are probably overpaying. IMHO 🙂

You’re not off base. In the past I’ve tracked promotions of cruises we have taken and in many cases different things were discounted with different promotions (air, cabin upgrades, free SSP) and the net price was in the ballpark. It’s part of the marketing strategy to target customers. Different perceived value for different folks.

It’s my understanding that you can use only one promo code per booking. So - if the cruise you’re looking at has its own promo code, price both out.

In my experience, when getting info for a specific cruise --  from a V agent -- one must give promo code to agent.  They will not tell you if a promo exists on that cruise.

 

Additionally, V will not combine promos, as @Squawkman has stated above.

I have sailed Viking Ocean using two promos in the past.  Just read the small print to find out if it's eligible.   The second promo was $500 OBC called WOV (world of viking).
