Diamond + Benefits

Recommended Posts

Hi all,
Just looking at the Diamond + benefits since we last cruised in February 2020, am I correct that we now don’t get the 2 free days Internet or the 2 wash and fold laundry bags?

Can someone please clarify for me as these two were important escort a long cruise.

Thanks

I don't know about Australia but we still get the two days internet and one bag laundry in the U.S.

I just can’t see it on the list of benefits. Also, the two for 1 on first night in specialty restaurants?

Nothing meaningful has changed since your last sailing - the list of benefits on the RCI web site misses some things like the VOOM benefit.

My BOGO said excludes izumi and chefs table. Dont know if on some other ships playmakers and similar ala carte excluded.

My son is a diamond plus and traveling with his fiance who has only been on one RCCL cruise. Will she be able to enter diamond lounge with him?

Technically no. I cruised with a diamond friend and I was not allowed in. It's up to the diamond ambassador and how crowded it is. Just free coffee and pastries and snacks at 5 pm. He can easily go in and bring the stuff out to her if they say no. Her card wouldnt work to get in but they might make exceptions with a tip.

I always thought once married it would be different.

You said fiancee, they arent married. No effect for friends with benefits.

And honestly like liberty there is a huge lounge right outside the diamond lounge where they can sit. I've seen families sit out there with their kids and dad goes and picks up the snacks and the bar tender takes orders both places. Does it make such a difference for her to sit inside. Only he gets 4 drink vouchers per day her can share or not.

Just so she can sit inside the diamond lounge? Its 4 drinks. Nothing.

He can carry any coffee or snacks outside and hand them to her.

Do they live together?  They do not actually have to be legally married.  They just need to be at the same address.

Technically a fiance is not a spouse in any legal sense of a spousal concept.

The purpose of the relationship recognition is not so it can be abused by people who are not spouses.

While you are at it why not promote claiming that folks are fake military?  Why not promote claiming fake police or fire?

When a program is abused it will lead to honest people that should get a benefit losing out when they close the program because of fakers.

A fiance is not a spouse or the intended purpose of the CAS relationship.

Fluffy is not a service animal even if you put a fake service vest on Fluffy.

You end up hurting the people that truly need the benefit when you promote fakers.

Twelve years ago, I took my son and his fiance on a cruise. (first timer)  They went to Guest Services, explained that they were engaged to be married, and on the spot, they were both Diamond.

They celebrated their 10th anniversary 4 weeks ago.  🙂

Wasn't long ago here or on another forum a user was complaining CAS rejected their relationship request because they weren't married yet.   The answer was come back when you are married.

If they currently live together they will link them and she will also be Diamond plus. Just call C&A before the cruise.  You don’t have to be legally married.  You just have to live together unless they have recently changed things.
