Good luck. Just off Symphony and guests smoked in the promenade, on the boardwalk, and in the solarium. Crew would do nothing about it. I was shocked and disappointed.

That is extremely disappointing not to mention against fleet wide policy .

In July on adventure the smell of pot in the hallway of deck 7 was terrible.  Everyday  guests had to be smoking in their room.  Cabin attendant had to smell it.  Nothing was done about it.  Every person who walked by remarked about it ..,,it was that strong.

Oh, I'm sure they did something about it. They quietly charged them all $250! Cruises gotta make back all that lost money from the past few years!

Never stopped smelling it the whole cruise. So I’m sure they did nothing.

Apologies, I was mostly joking. Apparently there's a "fine" for being caught smoking in your room. The way things are going these days, wouldn't surprise me if the ships were all "Well, then. Thank you for the money!"

My husband is a former smoker so we are quite aware of any smoke stench. We were on Symphony in April & the smoke smell was strong in the smoking area of the pool (port side) & anywhere near or in the casino (including the MDR entrance near the casino). I don't recall anyone smoking in the solarium or boardwalk. Once we ran into a jerk smoking in the promenade area but he was 3 sheets to the wind and didn't seem to care about ANY rules.

I think they should issue old timey brass/glass diving helmets & have anyone who wants to smoke/vape anything be forced to wear that before they inhale.

I assume you reported it.  Are you saying they did nothing after it was reported?

Years ago when smokers were allowed to smoke in the pubs on the promenade I would see an occasional smoker walking out of the pub still smoking. I also would see staff members stop them.

Absolutely.  After asking crew members if they knew it's against the rules, two of them actually stated "It's okay."  It was rampant and not dealt with.

If you don’t report it to GS then nothing will be done.

I got off the Symphony yesterday and did not notice any rule-breaking in public areas.

The casino reeked, and the smell extended to the MDR tables near the entrance.  There were smokers every evening on Deck 15 in the designated smoking area.

The one infraction we experienced was the next room over (we think) smoking weed some nights, which we could smell on our balcony and seeped into our room when we opened the balcony door.

So you kept your balcony door opened. 😉

LOL I wish, but I have an extremely strong but sensitive sense of smell so smoke/weed do not agree with me.

Glad you didn't take me seriously. 😁 We won't/don't put up with a smoker (don't care what they are smoking or vaping) next to us. We've only had it happen once (lucky) (cigarette smoker(s)) and I immediately called GS and they abruptly put an end to the violators. We didn't pay for a smoking allowed balcony and no one else has either. I have no problem with smokers as long as they stay in the designated smoking areas.

We will be on the Symphony later this year.  I'm very sorry to hear this is a problem. The idea of taking a picture is excellent. We have been on many, many cruises and have not had a problem in our cabin. We always keep away from the casino.  Guest Services may be slow to remedy the problem, but the Hotel Manager would probably take action quicker.

No matter the ship, there could be the possibility of someone, some where at some time ignoring the posted, published smoking policy. Whether it's on a balcony or on the no smoking side of the ship, or inside the ship other than the casino IMO, the majority of smokers do not violate the policy and the few that do give the other smokers a bad rap.  GS told me (the one time) , they turned the complaint over to security. Now taking a picture, be careful.
