And FWIW, lots of folks don't consider Pinnacle status an achievement. Its just another level in a marketing program.

And like I said, a year from now a toddler will have 'earned' their pin no doubt.

It was earlier this year that a 14 year old girl earned title of youngest Pinnacle. Bar keeps dropping

No, I don't have to take the bad. Especially after you called out a 7 year old then in your latest post in this thread admitted that you did not earn your level by cruising/paying for it! That's priceless.

No one "earns" their status.  Everyone has bought it or has had it bought for them.

Block me, problem solved.

There are no 7 year olds on this site

I paid plenty for my Pinnacle status. 😉

Minor children rarely 'pay' for their trips. The fact that I got it early is well documented on this site. Never hid that. I'm an open book.

This rarely happens, but I'm honestly getting bored with this conversation.🤣🤣

Several  years ago on Oasis we met a young girl of about 10/11 who was Pinnacle and had been for a couple of years. She was from South America. In another group the video of the boy achieving P on Anthem was posted and someone currently on Oasis replied  that "two younger ones reached P on his cruise".

That's just amazing...but can I ask why this poster (Dad) has never posted on CC before with all that experience ? Or am I missing something that he has a website ?

I am amused that you think that membership on Cruise Critic bestows some sort of legitimacy.

I'd be curious at the kids' cruising history and how many suites he's cruised solo in at his parents $$$.

Why does the cruising history matter? The rules allow solo, suites, points promotion to count towards C&A status.

Also, it doesn’t matter who pays for your cruise (parents, rich uncle, Casino) all you have to do is cruise, and one receives the point

It doesn’t matter how the child (Or anyone) reaches 700 points. All he has to do is reach 700 points. Suites, double points  promotion, etc. It doesn’t matter how the 700 points are reached, you just have to  get there.

To make Pinnacle you have to cruise 1-2 years so for a child as young as 7 to make it, means having spent 15-30% of his short life at sea.

Not that it matters, but not really. It only takes 350 nights of sailing in a suite.  Fewer if solo and/or during double  points promotion.

I know of one or two solo cruisers who reached Pinnacle in one year during double points promotion.  And only takes money (or some decent gambling in the casino). Many were able to work remotely, so time  away from the office did not factor in.

I did say 1-2 years.  350 nights is basically 1 year and 700 is basically 2.   One year is 14% of  7 years.

That's awesome! There's such an opportunity for learning about the sea, marine life, weather, ports, etc. Do you homeschool at sea or has this mostly been on school breaks?

Hi. School breaks now days. Before he was in school (PreK and earlier) we would cruise off-peak almost exclusively, but now we are locked into peak times of the year.

He really enjoys Coral World in St Thomas which has provided some great learning opportunities.

“Dad” has never been heavy into forums, but very active over in FB groups. “Mom” is much more active on CC and wanted me to post it over here.

Ryan has cruised in a mix a Jr Suites, balconies and interiors. Never solo. Post Covid accelerated him to Pinnacle status by about a year as we cruised a lot more to make up for lost time.

Anyone who has mentioned "solo" lol.  Seriously?  A child cruising solo?   HAHA.

Apparently this Pinnacle didn't take that approach but it is possible for a child to sail solo (in the eyes of the loyalty program).

Children can be booked into a cabin next to their parents cabin. No reason why a single child couldn't also be booked into a cabin next door to their parents making them a solo cruiser - in the eyes of the CAS.

Not that it really matters, but less than 6 months if he did it all in a suite during the double points promotion.  Even less time if he went solo in a suite.

Um, did you see the post above where it talks about a "mix" of categories?   I never once said he did it in a particular amount of time, just that if it took 1-2 years, that's a large percentage of a 7 year olds life.  Sigh.

Need more details. She will keep whatever status you had on her 18th birthday. Now if she sailed every cruise you did, she will have same pounts as you and be close to D+ as are you.

But if she had less actual points than you, she still had a way to go to move up to next level.

Not uncommon for 18 year olds to be D or D+, but only have 30 or 40 true points. Just takes them longer to hit next level.

Now in the case of spouses, we have 'relationship' points. That's how I became Pinnacle with only 400 actual points. Doesn't work that way with kids. I currently have 800+ actual points, but the wife has around 1500.

But my C&A status shows I have those same 1500 points

thanks John. she has sailed on every cruise i have with the exception of my honeymoon so it sounds like we are good to go.

So if you cruised by yourself and added 100 points, then you and your will show 1600 points? And then if she cruised by herself for 100 points would both of you be at 1700 points? Have you observed that?

No, when I cruise andvthe wife does not join me, my actual points increase but our higher total will not.

During world cruise next year, I won't earn any points to speak of once Laura leaves in Dubai

So no more blocks, no free cruise certificates, etc..

If you are 800+ and cruise the rest of the WC solo you must get close to 1050

Yes, but Laura's points drive our account, and I won't come close to approaching hers.

I figure I'll be close to 1500 when I get off in Miami, and Laura around 1900 when she leaves in Dubai
