Embarkation Day Drink?

We are booked for our first Princess cruise soon. I do love a fruity cocktail to celebrate getting my cruise started. Does Princess have a specific drink I should make sure to try first?

I've heard on other threads we need to try a dirty banana 🙂 so that is going to be my first drink when I board the Discovery next month.

my wife - pina colada - smooth, not icy

me - beer - cold - I'm a simple man (LS)

I always start with a rum punch, my DH likes a Long Island iced tea. They both just scream “vacation“😍🍹

The dirty banana is my favorite as well it's a frozen good on hot days up on deck.  Another favorite is the absolute cooler which has watermelon flavor.

My embarkation drink is always a Beverly Hills Iced Tea but on my last cruise, I switched it up and got a glass of Prosecco.

It looks like everyone has their personal favorites but Princess does not have a special embarkation day feature drink as some lines do. Just wanted to make sure I didn’t miss out on it if they did.

You have to be a 'simple man' to have a beer on a Princess Ship! Beer on a princess ship! Don't get me started, but if we are ever on a princess ship together lets discuss over a beer! I am also a "simple beer guy too" when on a princess ship! On the bright side you We can still order a Beer by brand, not just Ale or Lager, yellow or dark! Poor wine lovers, soon "you want red wine or white wine, let's see your medallion, yeah red or white that that's what your package includes?

Always start a Princess cruise with a Lemon Drop in Crooners!  Hubby drinks Malibu rum and grapefruit juice.

This is definitely on my embarkation list. I keep hearing all about the dirty banana but I am a margarita girl for sure 🍹. Decisions, decisions what to have first?

I love these kinds of threads. I'm leaving shortly for my first Princess cruise since 2005. I have plus so am looking forward to trying all manner of new cocktails. I'm making a list of these suggestions.

I don't drink, but if I did, Rum Punch, Singapore Sling, or Sloe Gin Fizz.  Sunrise, maybe.

 

I would just find a bartender (not ordering through the Medallion App, but in person) and tell him I want something orange or red, and sweet.

 

My last cruise, I had a lot of Virgin Mojitos.  Princess has a cutesy name, the Nojito, but in a loud bar environment, that can be misheard as Mojito.

On my first cruise ever (RCL), many years ago, we were approached by a waiter as soon as we boarded and asked if we wanted a “mango tango”.  Then he asked if we wanted rum in it, which we did.  It tasted like heaven.  I’ve never had one anywhere else.  I wish I could order another.

My DW would ask for a Manhattan to honor my grandfather. He loved the fact that she would sit with him and sip his favorite drink. Me, I'm just a beer guy. But on my next cruise I will ask for a Manhattan in honor of my wife and grandfather.

We love the variety of drinks available on board and I’m looking forward to trying a Dirty Banana on our upcoming Mediterranean cruise.  Our first drink upon embarkation however has traditionally been champagne.
