Will RCI let me take my bags off early?

Recommended Posts

I live in a port four days before the end of a transatlantic on the Oasis that I am looking at booking.

Will I be allowed to take my suitcase off to drop them home early?

The cruise ends four days later, which I could manage with hand luggage (which would make my flight home cheaper)

😀

Some people have reported problems with doing this sort of thing, but you will have to ask and see what they say.  The issues, I believe, involve passing through customs.

Yes, been while but was a CC Member saying they tried and were not allowed,

Down lining is no longer allowed.

We have friends on couple of islands that do this. They always pack their things off in a duffle bag. Both couples claim to never having been questioned. Sometimes they are just taking things home to wash and to water the plants.

How long ago was that, Royal changed their policy 2 years ago.

They aren't downlining. They would finish out the cruise. They just want to drop off luggage along the way.

According to @RCCL Fan, he was told that if he attempt to leave the ship with luggage, he would be stopped by  (local?) authorities and not allowed to leave with the luggage. I can't imagine that if you attempted to explain that you will return that they would believe you.

What if you get off the ship with a back pack stuffed with dirty clothes,

go home and return with a back pack full of clean clothes ?

Just dont use your suitcase so you dont arouse suspicion .
