Not in a bubble.  Where are you visiting?  Chicago and NYC?  I have not had to order from an app for a very long time.  I get daily room service.  Maybe it is an east coast thing.

If I do live in a bubble it is a bubble of back to normal and a good one to live in.

I have not seen any of what you mention since the start of this year.  We have great Uber service with slow waits.

Disagree, I live in North East and have experienced shortages everywhere, and still supply problems,  I have friends who owned multiple restaurants and had to close one of them because they needed to combine staffing into their others to be able to supply a good product for the place.  Supply is better but still not good and costs have gone up dramatically for them.  Hotels, still same shortages especially on labor issues.  Yes the higher end might be a little better off but not much.  The seasonal areas are having issues as I talk to places I did consulting with years ago, think golf resorts and upstate ny etc.  The ones you frequent might be good but in general the hospitality industry is in a big flux right now with help and pricing.

You are entitled to your opinion but not sure why people defend a billion dollar corporation that is increasing pricing and reducing service/amenities. We should ALL be calling these changes out in hopes they change their mind or stop the price increases.

If people want to stay with X due to brand loyalty, that’s their choice. If people want to shop around (we do) because the additional cost of sailing on Celebrity doesn’t match with the benefits, then go for it.

But we should all hope for improved service and amenities at the best price.

Your vacation, your choice.  But if you find a cruise line not cutting benefits and services while raising prices please do tell as I just don't think they are out there.  The cruise lines are all in the same boat so to speak.

Started a business in St Albins in late 80's.  Loved flying over each quarter for 2 years for 10 days or parts thereof till i left company.

Kinda shocked about what you felt were poor or even worst.  Never had a cruise like that and hope you never do again.  As to Celebrity vs Royal, we never made a distinction of which was better.  My DW and I have always looked at them from the viewpoint of younger  or family groups for Royal and older  people for Celebrity.  Also, as way of example, the casino seemed always busy even late at night vs Celebrity which in our view had small crowds by 10 pm.

We sailed HAL's Rotterdam this past March, which I compare to Celebrity and would and will sail it again as we have booked  another cruise on Rotterdam.  We also have a couple of cruises booked on Royal as we are sailing with our daughter and her  family.

We for sure do not hope to have the same feelings you do.  Wishing your next cruises are great!

ahhh nice such a small world!!

When you pay those suite prices, I don’t blame you for being upset. I think you will enjoy Oceania.

I hope to enjoy trying Oceania in a weeks time, but have a b2b in early September with Celebrity which I hope we will enjoy as much has last September, same ship and very similar itinerary. We have been Elite plus for the last 5 years and don’t think we will ever get to move up to Zenith,As for RCL we have enjoyed all our cruise with them as well.

Hello,

So far this year I have done 1 x Cunard and 2 x MSC. Next week I will be doing my first Celebrity for this year (I am Elite Plus) and will be able to make a current comparison of the three.

Regards,

Cublet

Hi Cublet, after many cruises, we love to cruise❤️But have not tried MSC.What did you think of them? Interested as we are trying lots more brands as well as Celebrity! Dianne from the very north of England😂where it’s so hot here at the moment!

I actually find Celebrity to be much cheaper when I book All Included versus RCL and purchasing the items separate. That being said, different strokes for different folks.

I completely agree.  Our RC cruises are always more expensive than Celebrity when you get to the bottom line.

Not to get involved in all of the conversation here, but there is absolutely nothing that has not gone up in price. Inflation is everywhere, groceries, housing, insurance, utilities, movie tickets, restaurants, clothing, automobiles, if it has a price, that price has risen.

Travel for pleasure is an option, not a necessity. The prices are what they are, and if we don't want to pay the price we can choose to go elsewhere, or not go anywhere. We choose to travel, and we aren't going to get all outraged because we are paying more. We also aren't going to expect everything to be exactly like it was four years ago. Supply chain problems are real. Staff shortage is real. Etc, etc, etc.

We just tried our first Haven  suite cruise on NCL. Very much enjoyed it. We don't like NCL ships or NCL  product in general. But we thought that Haven is good alternative. And it was cheaper than AQ.

Food and service were excellent.

We did a last minute western Mexico trip in Feburary while we had the Summit booked for our yearly Bermuda trip. We enjoyed NCL so much (Non haven class) that we switched to NCL on the Joy before our final payment. We're not in Haven, but we booked a Club Balcony and upgraded to the premium drink package, the private adult deck area, unlimited Wi-Fi and more speciality dining- and it was still cheaper than the Summit.

Haven´t done Celebrity for 12 months now.

Last time on Equinox was filled up with bad food like 75 % out of MDR nights. However the production show cast was great.

Celebrity is nothing close to what they used to be only 10 years ago.

But I did Anthem OTS once - and that was the worst cruise I have ever been on. By far. So I would still rather book X than RCL. But sadly, I booked Princess for the first time now.

n - that is not sad, but can be a good thing for you...

You may discover something better or determine your experience may be a one off and/or another line suits your desires at this point...

Enjoy your sailing and let us know how you enjoyed it...

bon voyage

You have not cruised Celebrity in 12 months. The last time that you did cruise Celebrity, you gorged yourself on bad food 75% of the time and then went to watch a great production show, all the while claiming that "Celebrity is nothing close to what they used to be only ten years ago." Royal was the worst, you say, but even with a full belly of bad food X gets the bloated nod over Royal. Now, sadly, you must try Princess. Happily, I will not have to read your sad stories in your Princess diaries.

I have been on loads of cruises with various lines but now trend to cruise only with RCCL or Celebrity.

I recently got off the Silhouette and I can say without question it was THE worst cruise I have been on in every aspect.

Food was shocking

Entertainment in the main theatre was beyond awful, every show was extremely poor.
Service in the bars slow

Room attendant non existent

Queues getting back onto the ship

Cruise Director poor

Given the higher price point (which I don’t mind paying) I no longer see why I would cruise on Celebrity and would rather opt to cruise with RCCL.

If not RCCL or Celebrity who else should one try?

Not sure what cruise you were on, but we did Norway 7 day on Silhouette May/June and absolutely agree with you. Didn’t manage to get a bath rode until about 2130 on the first evening even after several reminders and generally room not cleaned until 1.30 pm ish and evening turndown often 9 pm. I agree seems like staff under pressure. We elite plus and have done many Celebrity cruises but this trip was poor, for all the reasons you state, however I wouldn’t say the food was shocking, but could do with improvement, that’s for sure.

We sailed Beyond in January 2023 and it was an excellent cruise.  We  were told that ship was at about 65% capacity so that could have been less demand on services of that sailing.

We had a great time and loved Beyond.  Want to sail Ascent.  Both Beyond and Ascent have upgrades over Apex and Edge from what I recall.  Also like S class ships. No plans to go back to M class with all the added cabins and reduced public spaces.  We loved M class in their heydays.

We are actually sailing Royal for a couple of cruises with our daughter and her family including a 7 yr old daughter.  Would never bring kids on a Celebrity ship.

Yes, agree.  We are shopping around too.  After 30+ Celebrity cruises we have none booked and don't see any we are even considering.

They have shows too.

I will say Celebrity has a very nice OceanView cafe  on the E class of ships..  Eden was  interesting too, but again it was 'show' oriented.

How did you cope without a bathrobe? You must have been distraught.

I don’t understand fascination with bathrobes🤔

I don’t wear at home unless it -30°c outside and there a chill in the house

And never had a rode on the ship that  fit 🤣

We always hand our bathrobes to the stateroom attendant when we first meet. We never wear them and they take up room in the closet and hangers we need.
