Nickle & Dimeing

People say cruise lines are 5&10 centing us.

This is more than 5&10. I think it is gouging!

Small box of POPCORN on Symphony OTS. OH YES, made fresh by the Royal Theater, Studio B & Aqua Theater.

Only $3.50. Was free before.

Bring your own and you can make a fortune. LOL

  • They all do it. I was reading that the burger place on NCL will give you mustard and ketcup but if you want anything else (pickles, tomato, lettuce) it is now a charge.  So I guess you pick which line you like and pay whatever.

Someone said they charge that much because they don't want to sell it. It makes too much of a mess to clean up. I agree with the cruise line on this.

I am OK with this...For profit company. People pay for what they need. I like to have internet access... but I am not demanding cost sharing.

Then, why sell it or make it? Just stop!

I don't ever recall popcorn being free.

Prior to $3.50, I remember $2.50.

How long have you been Cruising?

I think Royal should start having more enrichment lectures at sea. Starting with Economics. They could offer it for free at first, but then start charging $5 once it becomes popular.

Since 2002, but not seriously until 2017. I was on Symphony during her inaugural summer 2018, and I think that's the first I even remember popcorn, and there was a charge.

I'd rather be nickel and dimed for stuff I can say no to than be charged extra for stuff that I'll never use.

Yup.

People post as if they are being forced to consume. You are not. Just say no.

This will be a harakiri almost for any cruiseline.

We saw it July 2011 on Oasis for sale on the board walk and we paid for it.

Princess used to give it away at Muts movies. Haven’t sailed with them in over 10 years so not sure if it still is or not.

Are we forced to post on here? No, we post on here bc this is a forum where people voice opinions, info, etc.

Exactly!

Not different from type of rooms. Some people want suites cheaper ... 🙂

I agree! If suites were cheaper, I wouldn't be forced to book an interior. 😂
