@StLouisCruisersI’ve felt we were almost related-married the same year, at least one child the same age and now, the same middle name! 😅

Ha!  I like my middle name thankfully.  My parents weren't expecting to come home with two babies since no doctor had pick up on that!  So they had one name, which they split up, giving me the middle name Kay and her the first name.  Twin's middle name is Sue so something in common with you. 😊

I have MS. For years I was on a biologic drug with a high copay. Before I went on Medicare the pharmaceutical company that made the drug covered my copay so I paid nothing. Once you get on Medicare pharmaceutical companies are prohibited from covering the copay. The National MS Society helped me apply for a grant from a philanthropic organization to cover my copay. Maybe the National Diabetes Association can help you find a grant. I really hope you can find some way to obtain this much needed support in your efforts to stay well.

Happy Friday. Thanks for the Daily and Fleet reports.

I am late! I was in EMDR training since 8:00 am and am exhausted. I still have Saturday and Sunday to go.

@marshhawk I completely understand the diabetes drug issues. A few years ago, my doctor prescribed Ozempic. It was $700 for a six-week supply. Insured brought it down to $350. I stopped it because of the expense, and we suspect it affected my gall bladder. I am on Jardiance which is $100 a month and Rybelsus which is also $100 a month. Some of the drug companies off a card for you to get a discounted medication. You might want to try that.

Thinking of all on the care list.

Celebrating with all who are celebrating.

Have a safe and healthy day.

Finally - Friday | Friday cat, Its friday quotes, Friday meme

@kazu

The numbness started in the bottom outside of my foot, not toes, and goes from the heal to little toe. I like the idea of seeing a podiatrist. 🙏🤞

@dfish I hear ya - Dr said the Rx he signed serves as his letter of medical necessity and if they (insurance clerks) have a question or disagree, then maybe they should seek a medical degree. Feels like a p*****g contest and I think it may not be a quick process 🙄🥺 I will call Monday, ugh

Showered, eaten & sipping a lovely GSM.

What a day. I am wiped, but it has been a great day.

We were so impressed with the rehab facility in Saint Augustine - both the tour and the meeting with the two reps, that my Sister decided not to bother with the place close to Jacksonville. I suspect knowing  that her Grandson might get to visit a couple of times sealed the deal.

This place has a huge inside PT/OT room. And a lovely outside area.  They have a mock kitchen, bathroom and laundry room so patients can practice real life skills. All rooms are private. Meals are served in the room.

The place is spotless. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. They answered all my family’s questions: my Sister’s son works for Moderna and my Sister’s daughter works for Sloan Kettering so they asked some great questions. This was also the first place that my Sister’s PT guru in the hospital mentioned when we asked him “Where would you want your Mom to go for rehab?”

So now we are just waiting for a bed to open up. Possible tomorrow. Her travel bag is packed and ready to go.

None of us can believe her progress in just three days. 😎

Thank you all again for your prayers & well wishes. ❤️

Ann

Oops, I forgot - mine started at the heel but it wasn’t that bothersome then the outside and then I woke up screaming from the pain in my toes.  that hasn’t happened for 5 weeks (knock on wood).

Definitley see a podiatrist.  At least if they know nothing it is written off but I was kind of ticked with the bang crash boom - this is what you have - can’t help you - you need to see x specialist.

I got proactive and did some digging.  ( I used to print off research articles for DD DH as he hated reading on the internet) so I knew where to go.  Between that and with it identified and telling my physio, my explored ideas and her agreement and suggestions while it will never be cured, it has improved.

Podiatrists do feet.  the others don’t - it’s worth a shot IMO (although I did not expect what I was told).

Ironically all this happened after Jose died.  I was fine before that.

I am so happy that you are happy with the facility Ann.  I hope they can get your DS in asap 🙏

I ordered 100 pounds of composte/top soil and planted 6 of 8 plants today. Ran out of the composte, so ordered another 100 pounds, thanks Amaz.. I'm pooped!

Herbs are coming tomorrow after 1 pm at our nursery. I have 8 spots ready to go.

Other than herbs, I have 14 spots in pots ready to plant. Pray.. hope..no more frost!

Sweet dreams!

Ann, that is good news.  The place sounds like the place in Waco where DH was after his back surgery.  I googled rehab places in St. Agustine, and they have a rehab hospital there.  If it is the same company, then I know you'll be pleased.

Sounds like your doc has had it with the system.  I can't blame him.  My orthopedic surgeon retired early because she was tired of dealing with insurance companies.  She was excellent.  For both knees when I was brought up to my room the nurse checking me in commented that I had the best doctor.  She was a class act all over.  Too bad that they are getting burned out by the system.

Great news, Ann!   I'm sure it is relief to all involved, especially your sister, to have a decision made and a plan to follow.

I keep forgetting to mention that my  middle name is Ann.  I like it better than my first name.  I always wanted to be Amy, though.

Wow! I sure hope you don’t get any more frost. I’m envious.  No way could I do that now while I fight the ice 😉

Hoping all goes well for you 🤞

DD has a spinal injection every 4 months and that little vial of medication is $125,000. Luckily, the drug company is required to supply it because of the aid they received developing it-all she pays is her normal co-pay for the procedure.

And cataract surgery was a breeze-except when my cornea was scratched. The worst part is the drops that seem to go on forever.

My middle name story: My father went to college (in the Pacific Northwest) in the 30’s. He had a girlfriend but they knew they could never marry. Why? She was Caucasian and he was Asian. So my middle name is her name. I’m not sure my mom knows.

Interesting and slightly scandalous 😉

Also sad - imagine how many people missed out on potentially wonderful lives because of biases
