We are going on a long cruise and would like to know if anyone has successfully taken a clothes steamer through the security scanner.

Why would you bring an item that is prohibited? Seen plenty of them on the confiscated items table. The scanners seem to have gotten a lot better. Likely a few don't get spotted but I don't think anyone could say why. Don't bring a prohibited item.

You can't.  They are not allowed.  For a reason.

Just wear it wrinkled. Or try some packing tips. Everyone else is going to be wrinkled. 😃 And avoid linen clothing. ☺️

Use the steam chamber,  aka the shower stall, in your bathroom.

Hang winkled garment inside away from the shower spray by running it to the far away side away from your clothes and run only hot water spray for a few minutes which will result in very steamy surrounding.

Avoid being in chamber for long period when doing the above! 😉

People like you are the reason they have security scanners.

Actually it's not illegal.  But it is against the rules.

I don't know. Royal Caribbean Court in the main theater would make for some fun entertainment.

Suggested punishments for those found guilty:

-No pool chair for the rest of the cruise

-A day ban from using your drink package

-Donate your casino winnings to your least favorite charity

-The ship's alarm sounding in your room (and only in your room) all night.

For Capital crimes maybe having to sit through the full performance of “Cats?” 🤷‍♂️

You can take a “Steamer trunk!” All very 1920’s though. Having stood naked in front of a full length mirror after 30 minutes in the steam room, I am honestly not sure I would bother!

At least my wife “creased up” laughing!

For yrs I have just brought clean Dress Shirts and have them pressed on day one. They do better job then I do, worth the cost compared to the huge garment bag I use to bring

I take a clean 2” wide flat iron to touch up clothes I wash and it is allowed. I press DH polos after I wash them and they look almost as good as home ironing. The flat iron puts a nice crease on jeans and shorts.
