I think we were scammed by Princess

You are correct.  That is why you don't need to give them your credit card (while onboard) when you make the FCD purchases.  It is not added to your folio.  No one should be handing over a credit card to O.N.E.

Princess really has created quite a mess with this restructuring.  I do hope they come to their senses and cancels/not renew O.N.E. contract.

Shall I assume this is one of the many functions that don’t appear until after I board?  I’d rather buy in the app than at the desk. Thanks for the info.

That is correct.

There are signs the the ONE infection of Princess is spreading.

Just saw a new button on the Princess web site that I expect is related to them.

The owners of ONE used to own a company that exchanged time shares weeks for cruises on several different cruise lines, including Princess. That allowed them to develop contacts in the cruise industry.  They sold that company and started ONE as a software company. The main focus appears to be related to marketing and loyalty systems. They also seem to be branching out and doing contract sales, as well as assembling and selling this packages combing future cruise credits with hotel credits.

All in all they seem to have retained the timeshare sales feeling with their new company. I suspect that some of their management came out of that industry based upon some of their sales techniques.

Thanks for the heads up.  I will be visiting the future cruise desk in a couple weeks on Enchanted.  But all I intend to purchase and all I will purchase is FCDs. They can jabber all they want, but to no effect. People can tell when I’m getting impatient.  So far, it’s been a pretty quick transaction.

Why visit?  Buy your FCD on the app.

Correct.  There is a CVP assigned to me for my casino comp offers (note: I have an awesome TA but she won't touch the casino bookings).  He is a contractor who works for ONE but is indeed considered a CVP - not one of the people pushing Princess Promotions (I've had calls from those folks too).  Anyway I've used him for my last couple of bookings and he's been pretty good.  Until my recent booking I had to recite my credit card number to him to pay.  For my most recent booking he transferred me to an automated system to input my credit card info and then when I was done the call was transferred back to him.  I'm hoping this is something new Princess has implemented across the board and not just something that happens when it's a ONE CVP as I really don't want them having my credit card info.  I know they have access to everything else for ALL bookings but that's just a bridge too far.

Based upon the reviews of the company by employees ONE is handling Princess Casino offers and bookings these days.

The phone staff in the Philippines that was set up by ONE in late fall of 2022 first started out by booking casino reservations before branching out to handle all of the customer service functions for Princess.  They were so bad back then that I had to reach out to senior Princess management - on two separate bookings - to fix what they messed up or couldn't handle.  I was actually skeptical of working with the CVP they assigned to me but he's been good so far.  I can book a cruise in minutes with him vs. an hour plus using the service center.

I think we can squarely lay the blame on Princess for starting that mess.  ONE only works within the confines allowed by Princess but yeah, they seemed to be pretty useless when it all hit the fan.

@Chefaleslie Are you sure that you didn't accidentally purchase a package with Princess Promotions? If you buy one of their packages, you have to pay a large amount upfront and it comes with OBC and hotel credits. My parents were just bamboozled by them so this is sounding familiar.

I bought my current FCDs onboard Sapphire in September. The nice lady would like to have sold me more but I was able to hand her my credit card and was on my way in less than 10 minutes.

HE!! NO! Thats how they recently have been getting people. Just do it either on the app or paper. My credit card is firmly in the safe while onboard taken out only in port.  Not going thru what thus couple went thru:

7 days from what was stated in the other stream.

Those "7 days" is the length of the majority of cruises. If you don't check your emails and credit card statements while on the ship, you would be past the "right to cancel" by the time you get home.

Done on day 2 of a 7 day cruise.  My credit card companies send me a notification the instant my card is used.  I have disputed charges successfully in the past. I read everything I sign and lots of documents that don’t require a signature either.  No offense to the parents in the other post, but I have confidence that I could not be swindled as easily. If this happened to every customer at Princess future cruise desks across the line, it would stop pretty quickly.  Some customers may appear to be easy marks and become victims.

Not only that but they let them use the name Princess Promotions. Why would anyone think that they are not either part of Princess or directly affiliated with them when they are allowed to use their trademarked name of Princess?

Agree.  Not only does Princess share the name with their ONE "contractors", they also share cruising history with them.  They mine the lists of people who have just returned from cruises as well as people who just booked them and then call them.  They make you think that they are genuinely interested in your last cruise experience or thank you for your loyalty by citing your Captain's Circle level.  Then the sales pitch begins.  And as soon as that happens just say not interested enough times that they get the message.

I will freely admit that I am rude. I say "no thanks" once and end call. The only call I accept from Princess is from my CVP.

Likewise. When my CVP calls I can see her number   Otherwise the call can go to voicemail

I didn't know we were supposed to say "no thanks" before hitting the disconnect button.  😀

Folks under 65 might not understand this, but I think I hang up on medicare related calls more than the next 10 combined.   😀😀

I expect that within a year or two the internal Princess CVPs will be gone or will have been transfered to be ONE employees just as the former shipboard future cruise sales and Loyalty Hosts.

Reading the reviews of the company on recruiting websites I ran across one employee complaining that they were spending more time on Casino offers and customer service issues, instead of selling.

Was that what last week's 2 day training was?

My CVP has been handling all of my casino offers for well over a year. I don’t anticipate CVP ‘ s going away.

Quite possibly, the only way that this is going to stop is if enough people report this to the consumer fraud division of their State's Attorney General's office.
