RuthC Posted May 20, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 20, 2017 Goes to show you how different people like different things. If I were offered an inside cabin to Alaska---in July or August, at that!---for no fare, only pay taxes and port charges, I would be all over that before anyone else had the time to say Yesss!!!!! Heck, at that price, I'll take two!

Rare debsjc Posted May 20, 2017 #4 Share Posted May 20, 2017 I would take the inside for free too, if it was somewhere that wasn't a long flight for me (which discounts Alaska!)
Batt16 Posted May 20, 2017 #5 Share Posted May 20, 2017 Got the same thing.Interior was free. Oceanview started at $399. Sticker price on HAL website starts at $799 for an inside. I called HAL and they swore no hidden fees. We booked an inside for $402 tax and port fees. Another $600 to fly to Seattle. So, for a little over $1000, we got a 2 week Alaskan Cruise! contributor Posted May 20, 2017 #8 Share Posted May 20, 2017 If this was an offer to those who know they are members of a small group, such as residents of a particular state, people with many Mariner stars, casino regulars, etc., would those of you who received it so indicate (not necessarily which small group, but just that it was a small group), so the rest of us won't get all excited and flood the HAL switchboard? DaveOKC Posted May 20, 2017 #9 Share Posted May 20, 2017 Sounds like a casino promotion. A friend of mine gets them now and then (none for me!).

Alabaster Cruiser Posted May 20, 2017 #13 Share Posted May 20, 2017 Was a casino offer. Haven't sailed Holland in years. Have too many cruises booked to take advantage of this offer. Also the flights are the cost of another cruise. But I do hope Holland continues to offer them. Sent from my VK700 using Tapatalk

Rare kazu Posted May 20, 2017 #15 Share Posted May 20, 2017 Does HAL own the casinos on its ships or is it part of Casinos at Sea or other company? It's part of a group. They take care of all of the CCL ships.
osofish2 Posted May 20, 2017 #16 Share Posted May 20, 2017 We got this Casino offer also, and at first thought it was too good to be true. We have now booked a Neptune Suite to Alaska in July, a $7000 price for $1100!!! The insurance rate was also based on the $1100. While I was on the internet, I literally watched the suites sell, and disappear from the deck plans. Looking forward to the cruise!
Rare POA1 Posted May 20, 2017 #17 Share Posted May 20, 2017 That's a great deal! We were on the Nieuw Amsterdam a few years ago and there was quite a big casino contingent.
