  1. I carry my full sized suitcase through the scanners every time, no problem.
  2. I always carry my full sized suitcase onboard at embarkation and unpack right away. IF and it's not common your suitcase doesn't fit thru the scanner they will take it from you and it will get delivered as if you had given it to a porter.
  3. That defeats of purpose getting rested and relaxed on a cruise.
  4. So with all the subcontracting who are my gratuities going to? The dining staff seems to be only ones that are Princess employees besides most the officers.
  5. Why would it be fair to a suite passenger paying four times more then an inside cabin? Using both days and type of cabin has been working just fine. Adding another higher tier makes more sense.
  6. Yours is why cruising is for everyone and anyone, do things at the pace comfortable for you.
  7. I'm booked on the Nov 23 Transatlantic which is 14 days of the med and then a crossing to Florida for a total 28 days. I am flying into Rome with EZAIR to arrive the same day as the cruise. With ezair Princess guarantees to get you to the ship and I'm spending extra time in Florida at the end. I've never sailed with MSC but have sailed in Princess full suites. I find Princess full suite amenities are subpar to other mass market cruise lines like RCL or Celebrity. Club Class dining is the same menu with an insignificant added dish in a partitioned portion of the main dining room. The service is elevated and there is no or minimal wait time for seating. The complimentary mini bar is a perk I use for 20 diet cokes. They did away with the nice tote bags, upgraded bathroom amenities, a nice chrome pen, a satin sleep bag with some goodies , complimentary internet and other goodies long gone.
  8. Yes, that was the gross scene I referred to earlier which they took out.
  9. They had a scene where there was a stabbing behind a sheet and you saw the sheet turn red.
  10. They are two competitors. RCL gives status matches to Celebrity which is owned by the same company.
  11. I thought It was a horrible show and they had to delete some of the more gross scenes. I'll pass on ever subjecting myself to seeing it again.
  12. A six pack of cans is $11.00 on board and you know what you're getting. I gave up on the fountain diet cokes because I sometimes tasted the coke and it wasn't diet. The sugar could send a diabetic into a coma.
  13. Does anyone know if bids are put up for cruise tours? I'm sailing in May a cruise tour in a reserve class mini and would consider bidding on a full suite.
  14. The Doubletree by Hilton has a shuttle but I don't know about them having the ability to take your scooter. Call them to ask. They offer free parking for the duration of your cruise.
  15. In the past the deposits were refundable and there wasn't a penalty for choosing your cabin. Princess has changed it's pricing structure and for the worst for consumers.
  16. I think you should have at least $500 in tens to tip for anything you ask for even directions to the buffet.
  17. The topic is only relevant if the poster tells us what category they were in and what category they bid for and how much.
  18. On the Caribbean Princess the casino is one deck above the window suites but on the Grand it is on the same deck.
  19. If they offered OBC for every glitch imagine they would have to pull their medallion app off line.
  20. Getting credit is not a commission. It's more like they keep their job because they are producing. Like any employee they must be productive to keep their job. Anyone who claims to know if they are commissioned is just guessing. I book with a big box company that gives me approx 8% back as a shop card and use their citibank Visa which gives back 5% for travel. That's about 13% I keep in my pocket plus some other ways I save. I am a suite person so the most resent discount I got for next years cruise from the big box store is $1080 a huge amount to worry about using a CVP who gives nothing back. The only down side is having to call the agent for anything but what I'm getting back I can cope.
  21. You should book the way it works for you. Why are you concerned about a commission for someone you don't even know. Nobody here knows if it's a commission or salary or hourly worker, and it's none of our business. Many of us book with an outside agency for the perks/OBC they give us.
  22. This is becoming all too common with these huge ships. Too many passengers to little service.
  23. I don't use the APP. I called the Ocean ready line and got my wifi paid in less then a minute.
  24. I always bring ear plugs. The shows are unreasonably loud.
