  1. Jack Daniels Sinatra is definitely a premium. I was on the Alex and it was available at the Eden bar. I am sure that I went thru 2 bottles Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  2. Book a veranda and then use the move up to AQ. You will not get the all included . For what is this worth we usually sail in AQ. There was a cruise where the price for AQ was ridiculous. We booked a veranda on the slant with a large balcony. Dined every morning in the MDR and also for lunch on sea days. The service was great. The breakfast menu were better and they served the same pastries at breakfast and juices that we got in Blu. At the time there was a promo that included all of the perks for most cabins. AQ was over $1000 more pp for 7 nights Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  3. The residents in Key West also wanted a ban on cruise ships in Key West. Other places are spending millions to develop dock areas to accommodate them. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  4. Totally agree We have been in Blu on one cruise that had a large group. They thought everyone in the Blu wanted to be included in their party. There was one female that was the life of the party. She would usually be the first in and always announce to everyone that she was here and let the party begin. She would greet everyone sitting at the table and make a spectacle of it. She talked loud and laughed louder. I don’t know how she was able to eat as she was constantly talking or laughing. To help you out talk to the host and let them know that you would like to have 2 tables or as not recommended one for 9. Give them a time that you will be dining and they will usually reserve it for you. Having 2 smaller tables wouldn’t have solved the problem with the above female as she would have carried on a conversation across the tables. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  5. The only reason we book a cruise going to GC is if we do a B2B 7 night cruises in the Caribbean to make it worth the travel from MI. One of those cruises will always include GC because the cruise ship always alternates itineraries between west and east Caribbean. We no longer get off of the ship and stay on board that day. I wish all cruise lines would boycott that place and schedule another port. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  6. If you would be so kind what was the bid you placed for the move up? Thanks Darn I just realized that you already sailed. That is the problem when someone reactivates a old thread How was your cruise? Was it worth the move up? Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  7. On the Beyond in March it wasn’t a problem. They had it set up to have a line at the pool bar and no one sitting at the bar. There were plenty of BTs serving. There were also a lot of servers in various areas that would get the drinks for you from the pool bar from the back station. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  8. This was the menu in Craft Social on the Beyond. Many of them use to be in the premium package. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  9. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  10. There was one scheduled on a cruise we were on to be to come and learn about beer. I went to Cellar Masters and nothing was happening. I asked the Bartender and he said what do you want to know? He said there is no demonstration or talk just ask me about the beers we have and gave me a menu. He said it was just a promo to make passengers know about the bar and what it offers. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  11. For us the portions are more than enough. I gained 10 lbs on out last cruise and it wasn’t from the buffet. We only dined in Luminae and Eden Cafe. No deserts after dinner or lunch except for a cookie or brownie from Eden Cafe. Using the stairs all of the time didn’t do anything except a little bit of leg exercise. I would think it was a good thing for the OP that the portions were small since the taste was not that good. 🤗. If I didn’t like it why would I want more?🤷‍♂️ But I understand their comment. The food quality does seem to be going down hill. If they are giving smaller portions it should be high quality. Quality over quantity. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  12. Remember years ago before the auto gratuities when you were given envelopes? There were many that skipped the last night to stiff the staff. I think that is one of the reasons that they went to auto gratuities Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  13. Most people don’t Grand stand when handing out additional gratuities. The only time that I notice is when they do. I try to do it discretely as possible same as in a land based restaurant. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  14. You are not there to eat. There are 2 bars in the buffet on the Beyond. One has stools at the bar and is at the rear. It isn’t crowded in the evening and you could get some snacks to go with the drinks if wanted. The buffet can’t be that bad as the Captain and other officers often seen dining there. It is also where the ice cream station is and on the Beyond the Gelato is free but they only have one flavor per day. The seating is comfortable and the views are great. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅😝😫
  15. If you have the same cabin you don’t have to pack at the end of the first cruise You don’t have to rush on the morning between the 2 cruises. You will be the one of the first in the buffet on the second. You will also be given a voucher for the MDR lunch on the 2nd embarkation day. If you buy liquor on the first cruise you will have it in your cabin for the next cruise. If you are into the trivia games you will know all of the answers from the previous cruise and win some cheap piece of nothing. On one cruise the winner got all you can eat pizza in the buffet. This was done because of all of the ‘cheating”. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  16. You are allowed to have guests in your cabin no matter what category they are in. You can also visit them in their cabin. As for them dining in Luminae it would be better to apply the fee to a specialty restaurant. They will not be able to use any of the retreat areas. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  17. What time is pre dinner for you? If it is 5 to 6 all of the bars will be crowded for the Elite HH. Craft Social is a small bar and usually packed by those watching sports as it is also their sport bar WCB is mostly premium drinks and there isn’t much seating. The chairs are around the bar are usually full and would be difficult to get many chairs together. The few tables along the rail are are usually occupied It would also be difficult to get a lot or seating together in the Martini bar The best place would be Eden or the Club if it is open. Another option if you want to all be together and just socialize is the buffet. There are bars there and plenty of seating in the evening. You will also get a view of the ocean and maybe sunset The best is to investigate all of them and then choose. Every cruise is different and the crowds in the bars change. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  18. We were frequent cruisers on Carnival and Princess. We reached their highest loyalty level. We enjoyed the cruises and had great times. We were walking down the pier back to our ship in a port. A young male asked us what ship we were on. We said the Carnival. He said he was on the Celebrity ship. He asked us how we liked the Carnival and we said that we loved it. We asked asked about the Celebrity ship as we never sailed on them. He said it is too stuffy and he didn’t like it and was thinking of Carnival. As we kept walking I said to my wife we need to try Celebrity. She said “why?, Carnival is fine”. I investigated a Celebrity cruise and booked AQ. When we walked on board and was given that glass of bubbly we were hooked. When we entered our AQ cabin and seen the set up and then dined in Blu the first night my wife said “No more Carnival” We are now within a few cruises of being Zenith. If we would have sail Celebrity instead of Carnival we would have been Zentih when that level was introduced. Everyone has to decide for themselves want line is the best and sometimes you have to go outside the box. As we age our life styles change and along with that every business changes, if not they will go out of business. Every cruise line has changed since our first cruise in 2000, along with everything else. If we don’t like something vote with your feet and money, try something different. Never know what is best for you. ;Celebrity didn’t suit that person but it did us. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  19. Love your response. 🤗👍😖 I think too many are taking the OP seriously not realizing it is just a jab at what passengers will complain about. I worked with one person that was miserable all of the time. If you gave him a dollar he would complain that it was dirty or wrinkled. If you gave him a fresh one off of the press he would find something to complain about it. If nothing else it would be that he might have to pay taxes on it. 🤷‍♂️😱 Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  20. We have been in both Blu and Luminae. We like to dine early and get there about 5 minutes before opening. Window seats aren’t that important to us. Most times they lower the shades of the sun. The restaurants at most opened 2 minutes before time. Sometimes even a few minutes late. To open 1 hour prior I think is a little bit of an exaggeration. Do you think that the wait staff and cooks are just hanging around at that time? I am sure they are using their free time doing something else instead of being in the restaurant wanting to work more hours because passengers show up early. ‘ I think the whole issue is that they couldn’t get a window seat On every cruise on the first day I will tell the host that we want the worse table with the worse server. On one cruise the host said that is impossible. You can’t have both. We even it out by putting the worse server at the most desirable tables and the best at those that passenger don’t want . 😱🤷‍♂️. We then asked for the table with the best server and didn’t care where it was. It was just a standing joke with her and she knew it and played along. We would walk in and there were window tables but wouldn’t want to sit there. For us there are better table locations that appeal to us. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  21. I agree. You can get hot water in many places. You can’t depend on the cruise line to cater to everyone’s wants, needs or favorites. I think you can get steaming water in Cafe al Bacio at no charge I have heard if sailing out of England they do supply kettles in the cabins Cafe al Bacio has Tea Forte. But if she drinks 20 cups a days it would pay to get a drink package as it would cost her at least $5 per plus gratuity. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  22. How much have you spent? $10 tee shirts than no. But if over the duty free limit then YES. The purchases will be reported to the authorities. I bought a Patek watch on an Island. I declared it as I didn’t want it confiscated and also paying the penalty besides. While paying the duty there were many others in the area. They were being drilled by the custom agents because they didn’t declare the stuff bought on board that was over the limit. The agent we were with said it happens all of the time and they get caught. He was also interested in the watch we bought and called the other agents over as he couldn’t believe that a watch would cost that much and wanted them to see it. It was worth paying the duty as it was discounted and also very rare to find one. As the verse in the Bible says “Pay to Caesar what belongs to Caesar.” Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  23. I don’t know how you get along with everyone but I would recommend not getting adjoining cabins. Some may like it but the few times we did it was an awkward situation. We didn’t know if they could hear us as we talked about personal issues (or them 😱). The adjoining balcony seemed like a nice idea but it also limited our privacy when we want to be on the balcony, having private conversations, and maybe just being alone enjoying the night gazing at the stars and the distant ships and lights without anyone else around wearing only our robes, or have the curtains open during the night or when getting out of the shower, dressing in the morning and etc. Best to contact both Celebrity and a TA to ask if there is a discount for a group. Just something to think about Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  24. Last year on he Apex we would go to the Eden Cafe for their cookies and brownies. One day they were completely different. We made a comment to the server and was told that the recipe changed and everyone was complaining about them. They weren’t even as good as those in Cafe al Bacio or the buffet. A few days later when we were there for lunch the good cookies were back. On the Beyond in March the good cookies were still in Eden. We tried the cinnamon roll on the Beyond and as posted by Lena11033 we weren’t impressed. One bite and done. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
