Everything about Harmony of the Seas

The small aft area port & starboard) on decks 8,9 & 10 are those going to be "secret" view areas like what was on Oasis/Allure...if not anyone have any idea what they will be.

We are from the UK and looking to book harmony for summer 2016. Want an oceanview balcony cabin in a decent location. What does anyone think is a sensible price for this? Prices on the UK website for 7 nights are currently coming up more expensive than the 14 nights we just had on anthem ( also booked a year in advance) . Should we wait and see what happens? Am afraid of not getting what we want if we wait too long. Dilemma!

I would guess cabins, without looking at the deck plans. Just looked. The floors you are asking about were the orginal ATS. The secret balconies, which were orginally on Oasis and Allure on deck 11,12 and 14, are all suite cabins on Harmony.

That was my original thought as well, but after looking at the deck plans, it appears that there could be some sort of secret balcony... Just speculation, but maybe Royal actually does want to make its customers happy?! :p

I highlighted the area that I am referring to in black. This is deck 8.

The reason I asked ..we are booked in last four (B1's) aft cabins on deck #9 and this empty space (decks 8,9 &10) was obvious on the HOS deckplans. Hopefully some one that sails before us will tell us exactly what's there but it looks like it might be a viewing area...hoping so.

I can only tell you what I'm paying for a December 2016 D6 OV Balcony sailing Eastern Caribbean. $2171 total U.S. (tax, prepaid gratuities, 30/30 sale, Diamond balcony discount of $100)

I booked on Royal's website.

We got what seemed to be a good price for a 1 bedroom AquaTheater (A4 category) suites in Feb. 2017. I'm really hoping that the bathrooms in those are larger than those in the 2 bedroom suites. Any idea when cabin layouts will start to show up?

just guessing here but I would say the bathrooms will be bigger purely based on the sq footage...

we booked an A4 for Feb 2017 too. The price wasnt great but wasn't bad either. But with the OBC and some other perks from our TA, I am a happy cruiser :D

Isn't the black area the rock climbing wall?

I believe that area is the rock climbing wall.

Thanks for confirming what I thought. Storage was less on the Oasis class ships as compared to Freedom for similiar cabins

I really hope they incorporate more storage on Harmony. Allure's storage was noticeably lacking compared to Freedom class. Balcony cabins on Allure were 182 sq.' versus 199 sq.' on Freedom. More cabins, less space.

Perhaps they will do something like Quantum!

How is everyone going to handle Dynamic Dining?
From what I understand, Classic 1 will be early dining and Classic 2 will be late dining. You and the people at your table will be escorted together to the different dining rooms with your wait staff during the course of your cruise. Different dining rooms but same group every evening.

If you choose Dynamic Dining, that is similar to My Time Dining and you will make reservations for whichever dining room you want to have dinner at.

We're booked on 4 Harmony cruises already (B2B in Oct 2016 & B2B in Feb 2017) and that's how it was explained to me.

Thanks for the info. We usually do my time but have had the same wait staff for the most part. I need to share this with DW.

As of now, we booked regular Dynamic Dining... for Feb 2017 sooo far away sigh

Good thing we have 1 cruise and 3 other vacations planned before then!

This was kinda my understanding too from what I have heard and read.

With DD Classic your tablemates and you travel from venue to venue as a group, Same waitstaff, same table mates, same times etc etc.. which all sounded fine at first.

Then I read that it is so random as to which venues you will go to once and which ones you will go to twice. If I read it right, there are 5 venues available, that are included with your fare and several that have a surcharge. If you are on a 7 night cruise, someone (whoever it may be that hits the randomizer for that week) selects which venues you will attend once and which ones you will attend a second time.

With Dynamic Dining (regular?) you get to pick where and when and how many times... if you really like a place you may just stick with the one venue....

What I have not heard about, and again this is not for the specialty restaurants, are all the venues going to serve the same menu each day or is the menu going to change each day...

bottomline for me, until it is closer to our sail date and I get more info, I am sticking with DD (regular).

I am a bit of a control freak, which is something I recently learned about myself (thankfully my DH loves that about me :D), and the idea of someone else telling me where to eat during my vacation when there are other venues available to us, doesn't seem like the stress free environment I would prefer.

What I am not sure about is how the wait staff receives/splits the gratuity. Do we tip extra each night if we feel they deserve it or not if we think the prepaid is appropriate or what??

I'm going to treat it like My Time. I will roll up when I'm hungry. I may have a wait some nights bt oh well. I will also book a few fancy ones when I get on board!

I'm in the UK too and have just booked a D8 cabin for back to back cruises on Harmony next August. I have used a U.S. travel agent as they are a lot cheaper and have OBC available (no all inclusive though but we are not drinkers). We just need to sort some flights ourselves when they go on sale but London to Barcelona won't cost much. My estimation is that the holiday will cost £200 more per person than we have paid for the Anthem for July this year in the school holidays (we booked that March 2014).

We'll also be sailing on the TA, and this is what we plan on doing as well.

Interesting - which U.S. Travel agent did you use and what is involved in doing this? What about currency conversion charges? Any info appreciated!

We are cruising on Harmony on the 2/18/17 sailing....is that part of your B2B by any chance? We chose the early dinner seating, because we much prefer that time...if they choose which restaurant we eat in each night that is just fine for me....less to think about...except for the night we decide to do Izumi.

I wonder if we have to let them know we are not showing up for dinner on the evening we choose to go to Izumi? We usually decide depending upon the show schedule which night it will be.
