There's stuff "we" always want to have with us both on and off the ship so I carry a smallish/medium black purse with a strap.

On shore beach shore excursions I simply stick it into a beach bag.

It's black so I even use it on formal nights.

Very nice not to always be needing to change purses. :D

For time onboard, I bought this little combo bag (clip-on/off straps for crossbody wear, use as a wristlet, or without straps as a clutch.)

http://www.coach.com/coach-crossbody-clutch-in-polished-pebble-leather/65547.html

It has two zipper compartments, enough room for my seapass and singles for incidental tipping, a lipstick or lip balm, a couple hand sanitizer wipes, my phone, a hair tie or three, and a small tub of extra sunscreen. I found I loved it so much I now carry it as a daily bag when I don't want to haul around my giant handbag.

On shore, especially for a full day off ship, I have a larger crossbody day bag that can hold a whole tube of sunscreen, my sunglasses case, a protein bar, my little wallet with ID, insurance and payment cards, plus whatever things my husband doesn't feel like carrying himself. [emoji849]

I have the same Coach bag and use it on the ship. Big enough for my glasses and small things. I also have a cross body Bagellini that I take on shore and it's so easy to carry, very light. It holds my glasses and any things I need like lipstick or any makeup I might need. I think I got it on e-bags. I think it was like $40 or something like that.

On the ship, I carry a small bag that I bought from 31 gifts. It's large enough to carry my nook, a bottle of water, and my reading glasses. On shore excursions, I use the same bag since my wallet takes the place of my nook. We aren't beach people so I never have to mess with beach things.

I don't carry a bag while out and about on the ship, either my card and phone are in my pocket or on a lanyard. I do carry a small cross body bag as my evening bag.

Off the ship, I carry a small cross body bag inside either a tote bag (beach) or a waterproof backpack with my large DSLR camera, waterproof camera, towels, sunscreen, etc.

I carry a small wristlet on the ship I only need a lip balm my small camera and my seapass card. Anything else is just too much for me. Off the ship I have a white sequined bag that I got for a dollar at a thrift shop. It's a floppy knitted bag not big but stretchy so i can put what ever i want in it. Usually sun block a comb my hubbys wallet our seapass cards a sweater and what ever the family decides they don't want to carry...lol. Now at home I like a nice medium/large size bag because at home I carry everything lol.

I carry a wristlet on the islands. About 4" long. Big enough for I.D., Seapass card and cash. I don't carry anything on board as my husband can put my Seapass card in his wallet. I'm very wash and wear.

Thank you every one. I have a small nylon cross body that I bought in one of the gift shop in a hospital,(tried to attach a picture of this bag but getting an upload size error) have a small and large wristlets and a leather and fabric cross body.

I guess have to pick one of these to use on the ship and another tote bag off shore to carry water bottle, etc.

I have arthritis in my hand so cannot carry much in my hand.

Thanks again. What an awesome group.

Not a lady.

Don't carry a purse.

HOWEVER, I bought my wife this one and it's the only one she uses on trips. Land or cruise.

Hi,

Thank you for responding although not a lady. I appreciate it. I do have a travelon hobo, RFID protection , locks for the zipper and impossible to to cut through, bag. I thought it is too big to carry off the ship. My bag has space on the side to hold a water bottle.

Thank you again.

hi,

this is my 1st cruise. I normally carry a big hand bag like a satchel. But I don't want to be lugging a big purse on board.

I have fanny packs but I guess it's not the trend now.

Can the ladies advice me on what size purse to carry on board and on port days ?

Thank you in advance.

I have a Royal Caribbean pouch I carry all the time on cruises. It is small, but big enough for money, and my seapass card. I use it on the ships and when we are in the islands. At night, I carry smaller purses so it hold my camera and stuff, but otherwise, this little pouch does the trick. Have used these pouches in 20+ years of cruising.

I use a larger wristlet when off the ship. It is big enough for a phone, money, a few credit cards and ID, plus comb, lipstick and sunglasses. My husband worries about me losing things or being pickpocketed, so this is both around my wrist and on my hand and all times.

You don't need anything on board except a lanyard for your cruise card. I ask them to punch my card so I can put it on a hook type link rather than struggle with the plastic pocket. They sell pretty ones in the gift $hop. I've used mine for years.

I just carry a wristlet. Although this is what I carry on a daily basis. I have a nice Over the Shoulder "normal" size purse that I use for my carryon and port days if needed. Just depends what we are doing in port.

I'm with you-- Wristlets rule! My husband gets to lug the water/binoculars/excursion-related-stuff in a "manly" crossbody bag.

I bought a little RC logo purse in the gift shop on the ship. Just the right size and can adjust the strap for cross body. Love it. Use a larger one for going ashore.

Just remember to keep your seapass card away from your cell phone. It can deactivate it. I had that happen several times on a cruise. Probably doesn't happen on the newer big ships, but don't know for sure.

I have found what works best for me.

I get a hole punched in my ship card and put it on a key ring attached to a coiled wristlet (cheapie $1 item at most hardware key departments).

While on board, this is attached to a small leather pouch I keep money in so if I decide to donate to the casino, I'm all set. This fits in my pocket and I don't have to worry about having any cash accidently fall out.

While off the ship, I detach the wristlet keyring from the leather pouch and put it in my Bagallini Criss Cross Bag.

https://www.amazon.com/Baggallini-Criss-Cross-Travel-Crossbody/dp/B00QTNPXYK/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1498731458&sr=8-6&keywords=crossbody%2Btravel%2Bbaggalini&th=1

This isn't to large to be bulky, has LOTS of pockets and I feel fairly secure as it lays towards the front of me. And while I'm walking around in port, my hand naturally lays on top so I feel fairly safe from pickpockets and other possible theft risks.

Here's to your first cruise, and many more to come.

I wear a small wallet round my neck that holds my I.D. , cell phone and cruise card , and would never take my passport off ship . Around the ship , I stick my cruise card in my bra or pocket if I have one and am good to go . I use a cane and need to have my other hand free , so carry as little as possible .

Actually, fanny packs are starting to make a comeback...lol. Nevertheless, I have a crossbody leather purse that I use and works very well.

Maybe in Wisconsin.

But the rest of the country it is not acceptable......
