Does that enhance the flavour? Pies are in the news with pie franchisee suing United. Another revealing story about the hidden story behind franchise purchases. Has anyone bought a pie from one of these pie shops within petrol stations? Seems they had huge wastage of stock. Should not be wasted stock, they come in Frozen from supplier then they heat a few up. My 16 yr old grandson works at Liberty servo, independent at Moruya, down the road, they get in Mrs Macs, frozen and defrost a few for the day. Any left over at end of shift, he is allowed to guts a couple down, good lad, pie eating apprentice, lol. Edited June 20, 2021 by NSWP

To be Frank not a great pie, I had one or two when they were free standing and I think one from United, much rather just grab a 4&20 or Mrs Macs. United bought out Pie Face when it went bankrupt a few years go. There are still some kiosk type outlets (Southern Cross Station in Melbourne has 2). But mostly through the servos. My daughter had one once and couldn’t believe they were making a franchise out of the product. Especially since Aussies are proud of their pies, eg best pie in Aust.! Blackduck59 Posted June 20, 2021 #6358 Share Posted June 20, 2021 Lynn and her Mom had lamb pie (without the pie part) for lunch. I served them souvlaki style on pita, it's local lamb raised about 3 km from our house. Funny thing is the butcher shop where we bought it was about 20 km away. I've had deep fried haggis bites. They were yummy, but "bite" was a bit of an understatement. They were huge. Luckily we chose to share a serve.
