430-630??? [emoji33]

We aren’t even ready for the evening by that time. Don’t leave the pool deck or sports deck til 6 ish and then get ready. Head to the DL about 7-730 and then late seating for 830 when we aren’t in the specialty’s. That’s why we eat later. Makes your “daytime” that much longer.

We are the same regarding 7.30 pm to DL then 8.30 pm MTD or speciality restaurant.

I don't see reducing the hours a solution. That would only mean long lines to get in and folks getting there even earlier than they do just now

I do think they should and probably leave as it is and let the people adjust to the new rules.

Spot on you are totally right if they reduced the hours it would compound the problem.

Hows the snow this morning.

Heavy here just now but not really lying. Very windy and wind chill is -12. Chaos on the roads, so I won't be going far

The buses are off which is a bad sign so don't think i will be driving this morning just sitting posting on CC for a while.

You can always “buy” a drink in the MDR if they don’t allow you to use you voucher. It’s worse than wearing shorts getting up from dinner and running out to get a drink.

I’ve witness intoxicated people trying to walk in with their drink in hand making a mess as they go.

And just why would you waste one of the few perks by buying a drink and not using the voucher before you go into the dining room?

Same here. Usually have a drink by the pool using the vouchers

Then YOU'RE part of the problem. You can go to any bar on the ship day or night and drink all you want with your drink package. But instead you choose to take up space in one of the lounges.

Here's a solution for you. Those with drink packages shouldn't be allowed in the lounges at night.

I think you missed the point of using a DP in the Lounges. It offers one to upgrade the alcohol one drinks. I personally like Tito’s. If drinking beer, something other than the beer on the list. This works well in most DL/CL/SL that have a full bar. Hasn’t worked in Freedom/Enchantment CL.

Generally we only have one drink and are on our way, occasionally two and can’t recall three. We normally eat early and don’t return later for more drinking.

Early eating allows for early start in the Casino.

You missed the point of my post.

This was directed at those ships NOT allowing use of drinks loaded on a SeaPass in the MDR. If you really want a drink and they will not allow you to use the Diamond FREE drink, then buy it. Getting up from the table after seating and then going outside to a bar is rude. It complicates the flow at the table.

The thread is about "new" policy of not having overflow. There is no published policy guaranteeing overflow. Therefore RCI is just doing what people always ask "Enforce the rules". This wasn't a thread about overcrowding or how to resolve that through reduction of guest benefits. You're right on one point troy, they aren't going to add more non-revenue space.

I agree. Why would an overflow be needed if the lounge wasn’t crowded???

This is a great post probably the best post you have written, well done.

You mentioned me but like i keep telling Troy:

We are unaffected by overcrowding in DLs,CLs in Europe and my suggestions are only in support of my US friends who seem to encounter this regularly.

Hum....

I think JC has had many other good posts.

Exactly. Why penalise the late diners? The DL for us is a place to go for a pre-dinner drink so we usually get there around 7.30. This is one reason I like The RC lounges better than the Celebrity 'elite' cocktail hour which only runs from 5 to 7 so we rarely attend.

Not penalizing anyone; offering options.

You went to the wrong lounge on Enchantment; Tito's was served nightly in the DL on Enchantment this past November.

Agreed. At that time we were not Diamond. Just a small refrigerator and Diamond liquor on the counter. (Our Gold SeaPass opened the doors to the DL)

Tito’s is not on the Diamond list last time I looked? It was in the CL on Brilliance

I don't see the problem. Why do you keep going on about the free drinks. Try banging Royals ear. They set the rules

He probably would, but they would just ignore him so he comes on here. I think he likes to hear himself talk since he keeps saying the same thing over and over.

It is one of the perks for us. RCCL is the only line we cruise on and expect some perks such as "free drinks" because of that loyalty. If any of the perks disappears so will we!

AND the alcohol selection hasn't been an issue for us. We have found it to be decent. ;)

I agree. I'm loyal to my wallet. If they keep taking away perks, we will also go elsewhere. They aren't the only fish in the sea.

On Majesty they encouraged "One for the road" to take to dinner even before voucher system. On Voyager many moons ago, same, told us to take a drink for the room later. You must not get around much. Anyways, if so unimportant to you not sure why you bring up daily in multiple threads.

LOL...that's for sure! :p;p

Years ago, when there was just a Diamond Event, it was our very first time as brand new shiny Diamonds in the multi use "Cigar Bar" on the VCL on Jewel...we were surprised when the bartender asked if we were headed to dinner. "Yes", we replied, and he hurried over to top off our glasses to take with us.

Only one cruise, we were admonished not to take them out, but that was also years years ago...with a guard dog officer standing at the door. All other lounges we were happily encouraged to take out our "toppers". :)

It’s really not the FREE drinks, it’s the complaining about the Lounges being crowed, no overflow. Suite Lounges in lieu of a CL.

Royal is not going to create more non revenue producing areas.

Ideas to help the lounge. One was 3 on SeaPass card that can be used at most bars. I bet many still have a drink or few or more in DL and maybe the 3 on the SeaPass. Without kicking Diamonds out of the lounge, what are your ideas to eliminate crowding? I have said put limits on the FREE drinks in the lounge. Or just 3 total drinks is lounge and outside the lounge.

What are your ideas other than adding Space or kicking Diamonds out? You got one?

If they do away with the lounges and only allow 3 free drinks then I consider that another perk they are taking away. One more reason to look else where. Now is that going to be good for the shareholders? :champagne-toast:

MSC will status match diamond to Black (their highest level).

I was thinking of looking at them. Thanks for the info on the matching. All the more reason to.

Thanks Graham. We will check it out. We are on in December, January, and February. :D

Your welcome.

The singers set up in an open sided conservatory between Jamies and Park Cafe.

At least every other night there was live music during 7.30 and 8.30pm here.

I'm told someone on Brilliance tripped going down the stairs because they were carrying free drinks from CL.

It did not end well. This was prior to the fall 2017 TA. Surprised that didn't make them enforce the "rules".

LOL...I am guessing they would have tripped even if they paid for the drinks?

;p
