I was just trying to think of an easier way to get your $1 than waiting at GS.

On oasis there are two change machines in the casino. They make change for $1 bills. Put in a $100 get five $20. Put in a $20 get four $5. Put in a $5 get five $1. I don't know what happens if you put in a $10 bill.

Interesting thanks. I don’t recall seeing one of these in the smaller ships casino but generally I take plenty of cash with me. I have gotten money from the cage to play with.

I had a problem on my last Serenade cruise, GS would not change a 20.00 bill to one dollar bills. They would only do five dollars. :(

Same problem with MJ last month. They would only do 10.00.

Most of the time I make sure I have a wrapper of 50.00 in one dollar bills that I have picked up from the bank in advance, but sometimes will still tend to run out. :o

I try and have at least 40 single dollars for a 7 night cruise.

On our last 2 cruises i exchanged $20 twice for single dollars at GS.

They asked our cabin number first so maybe the fact we were D+ had some relevance or maybe the fact i was on a European cruise and they were pleased that those dollars would be recycled onboard to the crew in tips.

We go through 10-12 a night. Maybe a few more if we pop up to SL around 9:00 or so.

Thanks. Does that mean that you can get a drink up until 11pm? Such as a gin and tonic

No, the free cocktail period is like any other CL/DL/SL, a 3.5 hour period normally starting 1 hour before early dinner. The 11am to 11pm period is for bottled water, soda, selected wines and beers.

Hence the need for extra dollar bills for tips. ;)

I think they were talking about the CK. 11-11

If one has the Drink Package, they may get a gin and tonic during 11-11. SL has a full bar excluding frozen drinks.

I didn't even bother to check out the DL on our Oasis cruise last year. Other than it is nice to get coffee from there in the mornings on some ships, I've never had a warm vibe from the concierge or most of the people in the lounge. We are much happier hanging in one of the bars. If I recall, the one time I went with DH they were checking cards of everyone who entered. When I go in to get coffee on some of the ships it is a card swipe.
