scatmanjack Posted July 12, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 12, 2018 Vision of the Seas December 29,2018 sailing out of New Orleans Was scheduled for January 1 at CocoCay, January 2 at Nassau, and January 3 at Key West... Just got e-mail from RCCL stating CocoCay stop in cancelled due to construction and is being replaced with a wonderful stop in Miami... Our relaxing beach day is gone... I'm sure the Miami excursions with be wonderful and the tour guides will be completely sober at 8am on New Year's Day... Any other affected sailings at this point??? moesyk4 Posted July 12, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 12, 2018 I would be pretty pissed...that is an awful switch!
ElaineKeagy Posted July 12, 2018 #3 Share Posted July 12, 2018 I think it’s a great switch. Much more to do in Miami and if you want a relaxing day on the beach, that is not entirely impossible on the many beaches in the area. Try the nude beach for added fun. pstone1 Posted July 12, 2018 #8 Share Posted July 12, 2018 It doesn't look like they have switched on the December 3-4 night Bahamas cruises from Port Canaveral yet.
cb at sea Posted July 12, 2018 #9 Share Posted July 12, 2018 A 3-4 nighter doesn't give many options to stop in other places...at least, you will have great cell phone coverage in Miami! I think I'd just stay on the ship and have a "docked sea day"!

molly361 Posted July 12, 2018 #11 Share Posted July 12, 2018 Why can't they still tender in? Too much construction I guess? Sent from my BG2-W09 using Forums mobile app
fla gang Posted July 12, 2018 #12 Share Posted July 12, 2018 I would think as construction moves along that all stops there will be cancelled for some time.

itsmeagain Posted July 12, 2018 #14 Share Posted July 12, 2018 That sucks, not only is your beach day messed up, but to do anything from port of Miami is going to cost a lot more $$$$. Even getting out of the port can be a pain.
Mikew0805 Posted July 12, 2018 #15 Share Posted July 12, 2018 Yep.. would not be happy. Not sure what else they can do though.
vicnsue Posted July 12, 2018 #16 Share Posted July 12, 2018 We WERE and the January 12 sailing I called last night and canceled. Key West and Coco Cay was the only reason we were going. I understand why they canceled but Miami is NOT a port of call.

Ocean Boy Posted July 12, 2018 #18 Share Posted July 12, 2018 I am not a huge fan of private stops but I would take that over Miami as a port of call. This change would not make me happy at all.
nerak11 Posted July 12, 2018 #19 Share Posted July 12, 2018 Oh no! Now I’m worried about our stop on Jan 3rd from Anthem. Our cruise is already port thin with 3 stops in 8 nights (and Port Canaveral is one). I will not be happy with a stop in Miami. I was so looking forward to the bungalow we have booked. Biker19 Posted July 12, 2018 #21 Share Posted July 12, 2018 How is the Miami terminal coming along? Much more critical Unless occupied, they are more likely to use the existing Terminal G than the new RCCL A terminal.

fred30 Posted July 12, 2018 #23 Share Posted July 12, 2018 I thought cancelling CoCoCay was the norm. I have never gotten there instead had extra sea days.
OfTheSeasCruiser Posted July 12, 2018 #24 Share Posted July 12, 2018 Haven't received anything for Mariner yet. Supposed to be in CocoCay December 19th, but with Rhapsody cancelled on the 20th... I'll post if I receive anything.
