As mentioned earlier, Wednesday/June 17, was our 48th wedding anniversary.  Did we celebrate?  Yes!!  Both on Wednesday and last night with two different groups of friends at dinners out.  Any interesting food?  Yes!!

 

But, both were done at different dining locations, outdoors on their delightful patio's, and safely during the Covid-19 virus period.  Below are some "food porn" pix's as proof and evidence that a "good time was had by all".

Wednesday night at a local favorite and top-rated location call "Barcelona", I had their super excellent scallops.  The sauce and scallops were both super!!:

Last night, it was their pot roast special with special mashed potatoes, veggies, etc.  Then for dessert, it was their coconut cream pie that was so large that even after my wife and shared it, we had half of it left in order to take home and enjoy later.:

Yesterday was our 15th anniversary.  We popped a bottle of Dom 2008 courtesy of Amex Platinum and had a lovely dinner at home.

Okay, we’ve been AMEX Platinum card holders for three decades, married for 32-years, and have neither received a bottle of Dom Perignon, nor any other sort of gift, from AMEX for our anniversary, ever.  So, what’s your secret?

We get one on SS for every cruise. Sometimes we bring it home for later. I assume that's what is meant here?

I'll raise a glass to all of you on Monday, once I'm not on call. Then the rest of the bottle will be for me!

We get a bottle of Dom and an OBC every time we pay for a Silversea cruise with Amex Platinum.  I am shocked to say I have had the card since 1978.  The perks have been great although this year since we are not cruising the card is less useful.   I travel with bubble wrap to fill out the voids in my suitcases and sometimes, we use the bubble wrap to cushion a bottle for the trip home.

As an aside, the Dom was a 2008 and we thought the flavor was a bit light.

Appreciate the kind wishes and comments from Lois, J.P., Emtbsam, etc.  Tomorrow is Father's Day, so it's been a great week for various celebrations, etc.  My wife thought last weekend was Father's Day, do I had nice special events then.  Now, it's happens for real, again, this weekend.  Good times!!??

Terry, I am going to give a BIG shout out tomorrow to all you dad's, grand dads, etc.......🙂  I miss mine every day........

so very much.  He was my best friend.  In normal times, this would have been US OPEN Golf weekend (it usually

has the final round on Father's Day Sunday). When I was growing up, we would always watch it together.

Just popping in to say hi on the Saturday. Hope everyone is having a good weekend.  We are having multiple food

trucks here tonight.........One is called Delish Kabobs.....I will be checking it out.  And one is called 

"THE HAPPY GRILLED CHEESE".........all sorts of sandwiches with different cheeses and other toppings........and

one is a dessert truck. 

 

I have been doing really well with my new eating habits and keeping my glucose number in a really good range😃....I

have been lowering my carb intake although the nutritionist I spoke with said 45 carbs PER MEAL is good...that is

ALOT of carbs to me! 😲And I know those turn to sugar.     

 

I have been eating a lot of fresh fish and chicken, with some beef.......no fried foods at all anymore and avoiding

those "white foods".  As for potatoes, I love sweet potatoes and those are good carbs.😃   I know the Kabobs will

be good........beef and veggies.  Oh, I was also made aware that Rye Bread and Pumpernickel are the best breads

for me and thankfully I LOVE both kinds!   So, I feel pretty good these days (thankfully).

Happy Father's Day to all dads, stepdads and lads who took on the role of dad!

Good morning and wanting to wish all of you Dads, Grandad's, and if you are in the Dad role in any way,  a Very Happy

Father's Day.  This year is weird for all of us and certainly hope you and your families, if not together in person can at least zoom with them or speak on the phone.

My dad has been gone since August 2011 and I miss him every day..........
