any value/perks to your cruise that weren't listed on the website? - this is NOT about TA's

my 'assigned' PVP has added nothing and wondering if I had a 'dud' or is this the norm, as I thought

I had read on these boards that some posters PVP's had added some OBC or specialty dinners, etc.

Our current PVP has "found" some additional OBC on several of our upcoming cruises and lower prices on certain cruises than what was showing on Princess website.  My husband gets an additional discount on some cruises with the Casino Rates.  She always looks first if this is available.  We have been surprised on some of the discounts she has found for us.  We have only had her for less than six months but are very happy with her service.  On our last cruise, she even surprised me with chocolate covered strawberries for my birthday.  Never had a PVP do that before.  We hope to continue booking cruises through her for a long time.

I'm not a big fan of PVP's, we get emails all the time from Princess and almost all have a new PVP that's been "assigned" to us. With that said I decided to call my "assigned" PVP and he was good at bragging on himself and saying how he'll be there for us and add any perks when they come across his desk and even said he'd call me a week after our last cruise to see how the cruise went and to talk about our other booked cruises, glad I wasn't holding my breath, a week after our last cruise was a month ago, so no more PVP's for us we'll keep booking on our own.

I like my PVP.  He's given me some OBC and looks to see if I qualify for any deals.  What I like the best though is that he can handle a request in a couple of minutes rather than calling customer support and being on the phone for a minimum of 30 minutes.  I like to control my bookings so have never used a TA, as in my opinion most are flakes.  If I had access to a good one like Pam's or Thrak's, that would be different.

Mine gets me the Casino discount, sometimes finds me OBC, sends me chocolate covered strawberries and a coupon book.  Though as an experiment I did transfer my January 2020 cruise to a TA as we couldn't combine the casino discount with the Sip and Sail and the TA was able to discount my fare a bit and get us OBC.

What they have done is make sure I don’t miss up on anything I’m entitled to, including price drops, OBC improvements etc.

On my first cruise my pvp upgraded us on our Alaska cruise tour.  At all the hotels we got a Suite or upgraded room and on the ship we were upgraded to a mini suite.  I had given her a copy of the new catalog before they got it.  She said she would take care of me and she did

How do you know if you have a specific PVP?  I booked straight with Princess over the phone but I've never been notified since with things like changes to my air or anything like that.  On our first cruise I had one but she is no longer there.

They have probably assigned you a new one.  It would be at the bottom of the emails they send you.

Having saved thousands of dollars through my HAL PCC, I was eager to use the services of a PVP, although I booked on line for myself (because I had no Princess emails assigning one to me). So I booked and got the email with contact to a PVP whom I promptly emailed...

only to get a "bounce" email detailing that they'd been on leave for two months before they were assigned to me, still were on leave, and no date given for end of leave, and oh by the way, no one was going to be reading their email while on this indefinite leave.

Seems a suspect way to do business! With HAL, if my PCC takes so much as a day off, I am routed to the same other PCC, whom I know by name. And when I contacted her on the Friday before a Sunday Xmas -- when the lines were unexpectedly dead! -- her manager could see that I had both called (left message) and e-mailed her with a cancellation (Hence the thousands of dollars).

The absent PVP did finish with a phone number to call if service was needed while on leave; I haven't done that yet as I was so dismayed at the casual disregard of Princess to ASSIGN me to someone on a planned and extended leave! That I'm not sure their representative(s) would have my best interest in mind. If @lljostwere to write me at my CC ID at that yodel sound dot com, I would be happy to ask for your PVP by name!

She just gifted me $60 OBC & a coupon book but no idea what a 'coupon book' is 😮

If it's the "usual" Princess coupon book it's good for leveling a table with a short leg. However, there is a second coupon book with one good coupon in it. That one has a coupon for a Buy One Get One Free for specialty dining on the first night. Be sure to check the coupon book right away to see if you have that one and, if you are at all interested in eating in a specialty restaurant, be sure to take advantage of it on the first night of the cruise.

Yon should start by calling the number you were given. If it goes to their voice mail, press zero to be transferred to someone. Explain your situation and ask to be reassigned to a new PVP. Any problems, ask to speak with a supervisor. I don't mind referring you to my PVP but she can't take you if you are already assigned to someone (no stealing customers from other PVP's). But you can ask to be reassigned. I have been booking with PVP's for 10 years and have been happy with my service.

Tried a PVP once and saw no advantage. IMHO, she did nothing more than what I could do myself on the website.  Within a month, received email a new PVP was assigned but she did nothing further for us. Have heard there is a big turnover with the PVP.  Went back to my original TA and could not be happier.
