Just off the Symphony. Bar service and hours were unacceptable

OP---you seem unreasonably angry and upset at many posters who made perfectly valid suggestions and points

Most of them lied about what the bar hours or are making suggestions like stockpiling drinks in my room, or going to the casino bar that still closes at 3am or earlier and is full of smoke. Do you consider those to be valid suggestions?

Can't speak to the fact about lying...maybe an error on there part...I am sure that we can go through your posts and find errors and/or omissions. As far as suggestions, that is exactly what they are, suggestions. You don't need to take them or like them but they are suggestions.

Just like you did when you said Buffalo Wild Wings in every city had $3 Bud Lights and were proven wrong?

Wow, this thread is a TRIP! I'm living for it.

OP, you sound like a petulant toddler, stamping their feet every time someone rebuts you, offers a valid explanation (ex: why some bars may close early), or even a hint of a suggestion as to how you could have made the trip better for yourself. You seem content to be angry and argumentative.

I often tell my four-year-old that if you can't change a situation, you can change how you react to it. Perhaps you could take note as well.

As for the suggestions you listed that COULDN'T POSSIBLY be valid to you - just because you don't like the suggestion doesn't mean it's not a valid one. I have another suggestion: let it go. Go back to Carnival where you'll obviously be much happier.

I just checked the online menu at the closest BWW, they don’t give beer prices, but a soda is $3.29 before tax, so I suspect beer isn’t $3.

im not part of this argument, but my local bww has small pitchers of bud light for 5 bucks, so for a pint of bud light, 3 bucks sounds right

By your definition, you lied in your original post when you stated that bars were only open for 9 to 12 hours each day.

It has been pointed out to you that there is at least one bar that is open at 9am each day.  So bars are open for at least 15 hours each day.

You convientently ignore these facts.

Just picked up some ribs and saw this.

Bud, Bud Light, and Amberbock qualify.

All this talk of comparison beer prices is ridiculous.  If you buy it from a warehouse club you can probably get close to a buck a beer.  If you buy it at a sporting event, concert, or any other captive location you might pay $8 or more.  When you get off a cruise ship in port, you'll find beers for a couple of bucks.  A restaurant back home can be anywhere in between- depends on location, time, type of restaurant, etc.

In each of these cases it is a simple case of supply and demand.

The one thing that seems to be a truth here is that the drink program has apparently changed the dynamics to some extent.  If a majority of passengers have the program, the cruise line conceivably has an incentive to serve less drinks because each drink is a cost vs. a profit center.. the exact opposite of pay-as-you-go.  Of course at some point everyone becomes unhappy so there is a limit somewhere.

With the break even at 5-6 drinks per person/day, I'm still surprised the program is as popular as it is.

Yeah it's just too much work if I have stockpile drinks in my cabin fridge or to go to the smokey casino just to enjoy a drink after midnight-1am. I'll just go back to cruising with Carnival so I can go to any bar that I want until late.

I think Carnival is for you and there are others of us who wish you would sail that line.  For the rest of us, we enjoy our RCCL cruises and don't get concerned about things that don't bother us..

If I wanted to drink in the morning, I'm sure I could find places on either line and the same thing with late night, but I am not really one who needs lots of drinks to make me enjoy the cruise.

In answer to your post where the bartender didn't know how to make a martini, but the ingredients were there, perhaps if you wanted one, you could have told him what was in it.  Oh, or is that below  you?  I think this whole thread is a bit much about nothing, but it is my amusement for the day.  Thanks for making it so and totally enjoy your Carnival cruises as that is definitely your line.

LOL! I have a few friends that are bartenders. I asked them about the twenty minute service time stated by the OP. They refer to that as the "go away" service. Was wondering why the bartenders would want a paying customer to "go away". But the more I read this thread...…….. 🤣

I have no idea how much a beer is at my local BWW's is but I'm sure it's not $3 or the place would be packed.  Most of my local bars charge $6 an up for a beer.

I'm going on my first Carnival cruise in a couple of weeks. I was worried because the recent Fun Times That I have seen online lists all bars except for the casino bar closing at 12am (even the pool bar back bythe pizza). I was thinking the hours sucked compared to our RCCL cruises. LOL

I did not see anyone lie about bar hours---I saw many posters posting the hours they have seen on their sailings.

And, no, I do not think it is at all unreasonable for people to make suggestions to you about how to have some dirnks avaiable in the wee hours after all bars are closed, and before one reopens, given that you complained about not having access in that time period.

I hate a smokey casino and try to avoid them.  That said, if I were up on the ship at 2 in the morning and wanting a drink on my drink package and all other bars were closed, I would pop in there long enough to oder a drink then take it out to a non smoking public area to enjoy.  In fact, I HAVE done just that.

Sorry you did not enjoy your cruise.  It seems, based on your posts on this thread, that that is due as much to your own attitude and actions as anyhting else. Nothing you have posted is even remotely a valid basis for a law suit.

One more thing, you asked on more than five occasions for a martini and they didn’t know how to make one? You lost your entire credibility there.
