Because they have to pay for airfare.

No doubt. Same as Alaska, Europe, and Asia for the most part. Who likes to pay for airfare.🤔

Eats into the cruising budget.

Better looking than a lanyard. 😉

I like my pin because Laura likes it. 😇

I also like the WOW bands

I think you look fantabulous with it on also. 😉  Hey...you paid big bucks for that pin...wear it proudly!  🤗

Hmm...have not had a Wow band yet.  Any real advantage to them?  Harmony have them?...extra cost?...or just preference?  I am not sure I would like having one of those on all the time?  Probably clashes with my watch and my bracelet.  😮

And down under I would suspect.  Yeah, happy to live driving distance to four ports locally here.  😄

That being said I am currently booking flights to PR (twice), Alaska, NE (Baltimore), Washington state, and Hawaii.  The longer flights to more exotic locations will have to wait until Katie passes into kitty kat heaven.

The land yacht is no cheap flight either.. 😮

Harmony has them. Nice for opening doors, that's about it. But that is important.  Great for a coffee run in the morning or bringing snacks back to the cabin.

We have a pair of white ones to match our Pinnacle sea pass

The only advantage to the wow band is you can open your cabin door without your key.  You can also pay with it, but I never found an advantage to that.

Ahh...thanks.  Then I will happily turn down that option when it presents itself.  🙂

Pretty sure we flew for as many trips as we drove. And I think any drive longer than 5.1 miles is a major endeavor. 😇

Ahhh...color coordinated!    Matches your favorite shoes too!  😉

Do you keep the same bands from ship to ship?  I am naturally assuming you have a choice, and can still just use the standard sea pass card.

I'm told they can be re programmed

Card needed to get on and off ship

True...though I don't mind so much the drive to Tampa.  Really like to avoid the traffic nightmare of the 3+ hour trip to Ft. Lauderdale or Miami.  I would rather fly to PR than do that.  😉

No rhyme or reason. We got black and blue the week you were on.

Did you find them useful?

and don't punch a hole in the sea pass, right.  :classic_rolleyes:

My 2 cents. On Symphony. As it is spring break ( at least for many Canadians) the ship is loaded with families. Probably 50% of the tables in CK are families and there are extended families of 8 or more. Except for the first night, the place has not seemed too crowded.  We only used the suite lounge one night prior to dinner and there were just a other few passengers in the area. I didn’t see any kids. (It was around 7 pm).  I don’t know if they were suite guests, pinnacle or both 😄.  The other evenings we dined  there, the lounge area was hardly crowded.

There are 13 pinnacles ( 12 boarded and one became pinnacle on the cruise).

I rarely see children in the lounges, but why would others care if  children are in the diamond or suite lounge?

They were a pain to us. No good in casino buy in at the tables. They punched a hole on our SeaPass cards in April and we had to get new ones. I thought you tried a hole punch on yours. Not sure if it worked or not. CRS

I have absolutely no problem or issue with anyone wearing their Pin. P’s have earned the right to wear them. We wear our SeaPass on lanyards except on Harmony where I carry in my pocket.

I think the point was, how do you know they are P’s in the SL/CK. I still say they are easy to spot with their Pins. I believe the majority of P’s wear their Pins and are easy to spot.

I even saw Super Mario with a Pin on. If anyone can be identified for their status, it would be SM.

That’s a good question. We all were kids once. Most will say they have no problem with them on a cruise but inside they can’t stand them and hope to sail at times with low kid numbers.

My kids are adults with children. Haven’t cruised with the grands yet but it’s on my bucket list.

I have seen those disgusted looks, stares in the lounge many times when kids are present.

As John says, suite lounge access is all day, not just the "cocktail" time. There is a coffee machine available there. You can also get wine and beer from 11 AM to 11 PM(unless that has changed recently).

Is the long hours for the SL still all day?  Do they also have free decks on the sun deck?  I'll be in a suite on Odyssey next year...

So, now that DH and I are almost diamond, and are planning on sticking to suites in the future...  What is the advantage of the SL over the DL?  Is it less crowded?

No one has any idea who will have access to lounges once cruising starts up again so whatever anyone says is dated.  When sailing stopped, CL were being changed to SL.  SL were accessible by suite guests and Pinnacles.  Crowding depends a lot on ship class.  SL on Oasis class is crowded in our experience but better on Anthem.  Radiance class really depended on time of year and itinerary with some being more crowded than others.

DL has gotten really crowded on all classes we have sailed as there are so many D and D+ these days.  Some ships have an overflow in a nearby lounge but those can be full too.

We find snacks better in the SL than in the DL, though that depends on ship too.

We tend to just use one of our vouchers someplace else on the ship if we find the lounges packed.  Not worth fighting for a seat when I can easily get one someplace else.
