It is becoming very clear that the expedited luggage benefit when using terminal 29 does not work and no one seems to know anything about it at the terminal.

I thought it might have been caused by the fact that we arrived early, but everyone seems to be having the same issue.

I wonder if anyone has ever been successful using it out of terminal 29.  Anyone?

I am fairly sure we were 29 last year on Reflection....We couldn’t see a Special Delivery sign anywhere, our taxi had been told to park up some distance from the door....The porters had no idea what we were talking about.

We dragged our suitcases back towards the entrance and there was a lady with a ‘special delivery’ lollipop/paddle sign. She called a porter over, had our luggage loaded on an individual truck which was taken straight in. She then escorted us through security and to the desk. Obviously during the time she was with us there was no lollipop outside....

We were quickly checked in and escorted on board. Our luggage was there when we went to our room after champagne in Michael’s and lunch in Luminae.

It wasn’t as described but once we found the lady it worked very well. If there is only one ‘paddle sign’ and the member of staff is escorting one couple in then for short times there will be no ‘paddle’ to spot. Certainly not the big sign ‘Special Delivery’ we saw in Barcelona (even though we had to explain to them how it worked!)...

What time did you arrive at the port.

This would make sense.  Thank you for reporting the details of your success.

you would have likely been in Terminal 29 if the Edge was in Terminal 25.

Thank you.

I received the following instructions today from the Shoreside Concierge for Infinity this morning -

We are excited to advise Celebrity Cruises has started a new luggage program
for our Penthouse and Royal Suite guests aboard the Celebrity Infinity.

Please note, boarding begins at 11:00 am and ends promptly at 3:00 pm.

To ensure a seamless experience, please adhere your luggage tags prior to
arrival and check to make sure your phone is on. (If you do not have the
luggage tags, some will be provided at the pier)

Once you arrive at Terminal 25, you will see on the right 2 columns with the
"Priority, Exclusive Curbside Drop-off” sign wrapped around them as shown on
the attached picture.

After the terminal staff collects your luggage, you will be escorted through
the terminal and into the private elevator, which will lead you right to our
VIP lounge where you will be able to relax while our agents check you in and
then you will be escorted on board to the Michael’s Club Lounge to meet Wim
and relax until your suite is ready or enjoy lunch in Luminae.

I have included the pier address below and Pictures of the area for visual
aid.

Port Everglades
Terminal 25
2025 Eller Drive
Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316

Please Print the attached “placard/ sign” and make sure it is placed on the
dashboard of the vehicle you will be arriving with. (Local authorities will
not allow you to stop at the suite drop off location without it)

As a friendly reminder, all passengers should plan to be on board no later
than 90 minutes before the ship departs, and guests arriving late will not
be permitted to sail. This rule aligns with government regulations that
require cruise lines to submit a departure manifest 60 minutes prior to
sailing.

If you have a change in plans or need arrival assistance, please contact us
at 786-719-88xx (This phone number is only active on day of sailing).

Please feel free to Contact me if you have any question. We look forward to
welcoming you aboard the Celebrity Infinity soon!

The placard is a good idea.  We used a town car service last cruise out of Lauderdale and the only glitch on arrival was the porters or security staff trying to direct the driver to the far end of the terminal.  He just stopped the car and had our luggage out of the trunk in about 15 seconds.

Wonder why they want you to have our phone on.

I thought the placard was a good idea myself.   The placard also has a picture of the sign on the pillar next to the front door.

Does anyone know if the Special Delivery luggage service is available for

RS guests in Dublin, Ireland?  We will be boarding the Reflection in June.

Not sure, but have had it available in Barcelona.   I would give the Shoreside Concierge a call and ask them.   They will be getting a hold of your about 30 days prior to sailing or if you wish you can call Captain's Club and they will transfer you to your SSC.

Thanks for your quick response.  We will definitely ask the Shoreside Concierge.

Look forward to meeting you in MC on a future cruise.  Mike and Mary

We received this service in Southampton on Silhouette so I assume it is also available in Ireland

Unlimited specialty dining, free internet and a premium beverage package are the amenities offered with the Royal suite and are included in the price.  You also get a bar set up in your suite of 2 bottles of spirits or wine along with beer, soft drinks and bottled water.

So I can't tell, do you get internet and unlimited dining if you get a royal suite regular without the all-in?  My travel agent will sell without it, but I can't tell if I get a lot of these amenities or note.

Looking at this

Royal Suite Celebrity

and this

suite perks grid

Both of the documents indicate the benefits that come with the different levels of suites.  The benefits are available whether you book with the basis price (nonrefundable deposit), two perks, or four perk options. If you book a RS with the four perk option, you are really only getting the $150 OBC (pp) and gratuities as the Premium Drink Package and internet are already with the RS.

They are not offering the no perk or 2 perk option on suites now, at lease on cruises I've been watching.  They are back to showing them with all 4 perks, or as you say 2 perks in the RS.

the odd thing i saw was that the grid doesn't show premium drinks and internet below the 5 at the top that i would assume are from the go best option.

that's why I wrote the question.

You have pointed out an error on the grid.  The grid shows that the Premium Drink Package is included as a benefit with the Celebrity Suites and Sky Suites. It is not.  It does correctly indicate that the internet is not included as a benefit.

Now, I see why you were asking.

Wow, I may have had a big misunderstanding....

I have a SS booked for January.

My confirmation states it includes premium drink package. Is this not correct?

The grid specifies that the premium beverage package is included only if you booked your Celebrity Suite or Sky Suite with the Gobest promo (see the bottom of the grid).  So some folks in sky suites may have the premium beverage package - it all depends what promo was running when they booked their suite.  The premium beverage package is not an "automatic" benefit of a sky suite.

Correct.  I had forgot about the note about the Best at the bottom.  But it also mentions the Internet as a Best perk and it says NA on the grid.  So the grid is certainly not consistent in that regard.

Nothing that Celebrity publishes or verbally says is consistent!!! LOL

We just upgraded to a Royal Suite for our upcoming May 7 cruise. (Yay, first time. Working our way up the suite chain cruise-by-cruise.) Assuming we get unlimited laundry, does this include unlimited dry cleaning as well? Anyone know?

They changed the wording from ‘unlimited’ to twice per Cruise a few years ago. We were told by our butler this was to prevent one or two extended family groups abusing the system. He told us not to worry and to just send in what we like...

We don’t send in masses of stuff but we have never been charged for laundry, pressing of dry cleaning.

Unfortunately, you can’t know for sure until you board the ship and ask your own butler. We are currently onboard Solstice with amazing Captain Tasos and crew.

Celebrity has definitely been having serious communications issues.

Our very nice shoreside concierge emailed — in response to my specific question— that we’d only have laundry twice per cruise (for current 19 night Transpacific + 10 nights to Vancouver).

Once onboard, our excellent butler told me that it was officially limited to twice per cruise but not to worry about it this time. He’d take care of us.

Suite manager said that shoreside concierge should’ve informed us that laundry is unlimited. She asked to see the email stating the laundry limits and was not pleased that I didn’t just misunderstand what I was told.

The current Suite Class amenity flyer states that RS gets “Complimentary laundry service” (with no fine print nor asterisks)

I have zero confidence that the answer won’t change again by our next cruise, if we continue to cruise with Celebrity.

What ends up included seems to just be the luck of the draw. Why should it feel like they are doing us a favor at these prices? How are we to make an informed decision on the value of the cruise and even how much to pack if they aren’t consistent?

Sadly, I suggest you bring copies on your cruise of whatever perks you are promised.
Jane
