MixerDave Posted May 30, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 30, 2019 Due to a recent promotion, I have $250 non refundable OBC, as well as $250 military veteran credit. First, is the veteran credit refundable, and if so, which OBC do they debit first.

If you have refundable OBC left at the end of the cruise, there are 2 ways you get it back. If it is less than $25 you can get it paid to you at the Passenger Services desk the last night of the cruise. If it's over $25, it will be returned to you by a third party check which will come in the mail to you, normally 4-6 weeks after the end of the cruise, sometimes sooner. The actual time it takes to get processed varies, I believe, according to how many checks the 3rd party has to process from the various cruises that they are processing at any given time. That is purely a guesstimate on my part. There is also a way to get your returnable OBC refunded to you by going to the casino, transferring funds from your OB account, playing the slots for a while and then withdrawing the balance of the funds you transferred . Hope this answers your question. Tom Edited May 30, 2019 by Pierlesscruisers

Refundable is for want of another word...refundable.

Times Prince Posted May 31, 2019 #7 Share Posted May 31, 2019 Unless you also have free gratuities, you probably won't have to worry about refundable or not as the funds will be consumed. Simply take some Princess excursions in addition to paying the daily hotel charges.

We book 99% of our tours from independent operators, pay our gratuities on our credit card & don't buy many drinks if at all. Unless I spot a real deal in the Princess sales events we take most of our OBC in cash.

One reason would be to get the points, miles or whatever rewards most credit cards offer. Why pay cash (OBC) with no points if you can pocket the cash and pay on your cc? neverbeenhere Posted May 31, 2019 #20 Share Posted May 31, 2019 While I will pickup a one cent piece, someone studied the issue a few years ago and concluded that picking up a 5 cent nickel was worth the risk of bending over, but a one cent piece was too risky for the reward.

On our last Emerald cruise, Feb./March 2019 there was a large sign at the entrances to the casino which stated you can charge casino play to your on board account. If was against Princess' policy the sign would not be there.
