On other which left me scratching my head is the light on the right side of the bed. It hangs from the ceiling and the on/off button is on the lamp which requires you to get out of bed to turn on or off. Good Lord, can't they even measure? And the nonfunctional light! Is the back of the balcony chair adjustable, and if so, would you be able to take a pic with the back in its most reclined position? Yes they are far more adjustable than I would have imagined as we had not yet tried them. They actually recline almost flat. Thanks for asking. I learned something new.

I wish our June 16th cruise stopped in Newport. Steve spent some time there as a child and has very fond memories. Glad you enjoyed also. Would have liked more time also. Such a beautiful walkable town.

The bars were packed. I had had a small problem when I used my seapass for the first time. I went to pick up a glass of wine for Iain while he had a cigarette. I ordered a Mer de Soleil and she’d handed me a receipt for about $25. I pointed out we had a Premium Drink Package as a Zenith and she showed me the forgot to put it on the card. No problem she said and voided the transaction. This morning the MCC or should I say RCC fixed it.

LuAnn Posted June 6, 2019 #207 Share Posted June 6, 2019 (edited) I wonder what the "thought process" was to not have a "coffee table"??? That just seems so odd. I use them all the time for many reasons. IMO "weird"!!! :) And I thought there were foot stools on the balcony in AQ ? TeaBag Posted June 6, 2019 #208 Share Posted June 6, 2019 I am enjoying your review, Jim, especially Newport as do not go there. We sail Oct 6 and go all the way to Quebec City. We are looking forward to that, having never been there. I really like the loungers on your balcony.

barneyboy Posted June 7, 2019 #211 Share Posted June 7, 2019 Newport looks beautiful. We sail on Summit in 8th September but do not call there. Good to see you had Scottish shortbread at the Tea House! Did you get a taste for it on your last trip?

Sure seems like that would tip over if you used it laying flat. Maybe you are supposed to support it with the stupid little table

I have read that many bring in the table from the deck. No foot stools at least not in our room. I believe they would take too much space the way the lounger reclines take lots of space. I had the caprice salad, Iain had the carpaccio and Wanda had the blue cheese soufflé. All were tasty. For dinner Wanda had the Filet while Iain and I had the salmon salad. For desert I had the cherry jubilee and Iain had ice cream.

Rare Jim_Iain Posted June 7, 2019 Author #220 Share Posted June 7, 2019 These pieces of “art” which I have coined the drag queen collection adorns the central stairway. This picture will give you an idea of the new hallway carpet and dark stairway carpet. 3

jcpc Posted June 7, 2019 #223 Share Posted June 7, 2019 Thanks for posting, Jim. I'm enjoying following along. I'm laughing at your title of "drag queen" collection. I've seen all the art of the Summit and that's a great description!!! 😂

Just as as we sat down there was a torrential downpour. It was gone by the time we finished off our snack. Oh, my! In such beautiful surroundings they served tea in paper cups, and biscuits in foil paper?? Perhaps that is the cause of the semi-scowl on your face?
