A couple other "enhancements" that are probably misses is closets seem to be a bit short even for a men's sports coat and dress shirts which bunches up on the bottom of the shelf in the shorter of the two closets.  On other which left me scratching my head is the light on the right side of the bed.   It hangs from the ceiling and the on/off button is on the lamp which requires you to get out of bed to turn on or off.

Good Lord, can't they even measure?  And the nonfunctional light!

Great  pics.  The yoga mats must be a new addition.  I haven't seen or heard of  them previously.

Is the back of the balcony chair adjustable, and if so, would you be able to take a pic with the back in its most reclined position?

Yes they are far more adjustable than I would have imagined as we had not yet tried them.   They actually recline almost flat.   Thanks for asking.   I learned something new.

Beautiful day in Newport.  We have been and toured the Breakers.  I wish our June 16th cruise stopped in Newport.  Steve spent some time there as a child and has very fond memories.

Glad you enjoyed also.  Would have liked more time also.   Such a beautiful walkable town.

Jim thank you for doing the live review, can you post the officers page?

Were there any happy hours at bars on the 1st night?

Didn’t see any happy hour promos. The bars were packed.

I had had a small problem when I used my seapass for the first time.  I went to pick up a glass of wine for Iain while he had a cigarette.    I ordered a Mer de Soleil and she’d handed me a receipt for about $25.  I pointed out we had a Premium Drink Package as a Zenith and she showed me the forgot to put it on the card.  No problem she said and voided the transaction.  This morning the MCC or should I say RCC fixed it.

Those chairs are great...we use the back to hang swimsuits to dry... very secure and no one can see them

I wonder what the "thought process" was to not have a "coffee table"??? That just seems so odd. I use them all the time for many reasons. IMO "weird"!!! :)  And I thought there were foot stools on the balcony in AQ ? LuAnn

I am enjoying your review, Jim, especially Newport as do not go there.  We sail Oct 6 and go all the way to Quebec City. We are looking forward to that, having never been there.  I really like the loungers on your balcony.

Hi, Jim, I've noted the 'Fishy Site' mentioned here on CC many times.  Can''t figure out what it would be.  Would you please e-mail me at classy1donna at yahoo dot come if you care to share the name?  Please mention Cruise Critic in the subject line.

Thanks,

Donna

Donna, same here! If you find out, would you please email me at edlvslld@verizon.net? Thank you!

Thanks for  the great pics!  Now all I need is for X to bring back the footstool for a total recline!

How can you use those laying flat?  I don’t see any legs that would extend from the top of the chair.  Sure seems like that would tip over if you used it laying flat.  Maybe you are supposed to support it with the stupid little table

That I can’t figure out.   I have read that many bring in the table from the deck.    No foot stools at least not in our room.   I believe they would take too much space the way the lounger reclines take lots of space.

Newport looks beautiful. We sail on Summit in 8th September but do not call there.

Good to see you had Scottish shortbread at the Tea House! Did you get a taste for it on your last trip?

We really loved Newport and were anxious to see as we don’t stop there on the next cruise.

Dinner menu from Blu last night.  I forgot to get pictures.   I had the caprice salad, Iain had the carpaccio and Wanda had the blue cheese soufflé.   All were tasty.  For dinner Wanda had the Filet while Iain and I had the salmon salad.  For desert I had the cherry jubilee  and Iain had ice cream. B2AC85A2-AFB6-48D6-8597-18B0650FCE9B.thumb.jpeg.3d2b0fb96204a07448b90cdcaa44db9c.jpeg

We got up today at 9:00 after a very restful night.  BTW.   The beds are VERY comfortable.    I measured the beds and the are definitely queen size.

Today the Cruise Critic gathering will take place at 10:15 in Cellar Masters.

Should be be a busy day.  We have a Zenith Officers lunch today and the Senior officers party in Retreat this evening.

Today wilk I’ll be the first of 2 Chic Night.

These pieces of “art” which I have coined the drag queen collection adorns the central stairway.

This picture will give you an idea of the new hallway carpet and dark stairway carpet.

Thanks for posting, Jim.  I'm enjoying following along.  I'm laughing at your title of "drag queen" collection.  I've seen all the art of the Summit and that's a great description!!! 😂

Now the smartest way thing we did all day was to go to the tea house at the Marble Mansion.

Just as as we sat down there was a torrential downpour.   It was gone by the time we finished off our snack.

Oh, my!  In such beautiful surroundings they served tea in paper cups, and biscuits in foil paper??  Perhaps that is the cause of the semi-scowl on your face?

Really enjoying New England.  It has been many years since I lived in Longmeadow Mass.
