Picture on sea pass?

Recommended Posts

Does your seapass have your picture on it?  When you board the ship and make purchases on the drink package does your photo show up?  I am not asking because I want to cheat the package, but rather can I send my 21 year old who does not drink to the bar with my card to get me a beverage?  He will have the refreshment package and will drink mocktails.

Your picture will come up on the crew monitor when it is scanned, it’s not actually on the sea-pass

you most likely wont be able to send  your son.

You can send your son to get a drink with each of your cards, they would likely question him if he was only using your card to get a drink.

I'm with Mema -- at long as he is of age and has a card/package of his own, I can't think why this is any different than me taking my DH's card with my own to get two drinks. If in doubt, stay in sight and wave at the barkeep, or visit together the first time or two.

Your photo shows up when your pass is scanned. If seen, the ship can only assume that your son is using someone else's pass to get free drinks, confiscate your card, and cancel your drink package without refund for fraud.

So why can my husband do it, but not her son? We never had a problem with just one of our party going to the bar with everyone’s cards

"Just" 21...that's of legal age....that's not the issue here.

Yes, that can be an issue. If he is using someone else's card, there is no way to know how old he actually is and nearly all 21 year olds don't look old enough not to require proof of age.

I'm gonna say it probably won't be an issue, especially if he's getting himself a drink with his card at the same time.  This is assuming that you're actually in the general vicinity of the bar, not back in your room.

If a bartender asks, your son can point to you and you wave your hand.  Problem solved.

But the son will have his own Seapass with him, which will show that he is over the age of 21.

If both people had the alcohol package there would not be an issue.  The issue may be that the OP is sending his son who only has the refreshment package to get an alcoholic drink.

I normally only get the Soda Package, and I've taken people's cards to the bar to get their alcoholic drinks when I'm getting my soda refilled.

I agree. I always just get the soda package. My wife gets the refreshment package. They never question when I take her card to get her a mock-tail or smoothie. Don't see why it would be any different with the Deluxe package.

You misunderstood my post completely. Most of the poster's above didn't and have given good responses.

The son is "21" and will have his own SeaPass showing that fact and the person he is getting the drink for will apparently be sitting near by. Why make such a big deal out of this when it isn't at all.

Agree and the OP even made that clear in their original post.

This would probably be the one issue the OP runs into. I think others are missing your point. If he goes up with two alcohol package cards then the bartender wouldn't think anything of it. If he goes up with his soda and parents alcohol, the bartender may ask to have alcohol card owner to come up to prove the drink is for them.

Yeah, that’s not going to happen, OP will have no problem with her son retrieving her drinks

I get my husband a drink all the time.  Once they know you have the package it is no big deal.  We both have it.  So if I get one, I use his card and if he gets me one, he uses my card.  We don't do it often as the bar/pool servers take care of it as a rule, but we do it when we have to.  After day one, it is never an issue

It seems that the many responses to this thread does a great deal to explain why RCI requires the "all in room must buy drink package" feature.  I don't expect the bartenders to keep track of the family groups and their drinking habits/preferences.  There is usually a server approaching us trying to serve us drinks.  We can each use our cards to get what we want.  Or, more likely, I am at a table in the casino and my family is asleep in the room.  The servers find me for the tips.

Sorry a bit confused by your post....One person buys the drink package RCI only requires the other in the cabin (age 21+) must at least buy the Refreshment package not the alcohol package.

Server's have never looked for us for "tips".
