depplep Posted August 14, 2019 #26 Share Posted August 14, 2019 Everything on the ship was closed on our June cruise. As far as shopping/casino. Only bar I remember being open was the pool bar. We got off to look around but I won't get off this weekend. While Oasis Lagoon pool was very nice, I'm just as happy to stay on board by a relatively quiet pool on deck. Now, if they could just get rid of those movies at sea and the stupid people tricks videos. 😕

It's verbatim copy and paste from here: https://is.gd/iKycLm You're right, but it was from a post from that page on FB. Last time I linked to their site here on cc, my post got pulled. Mikew0805 Posted August 14, 2019 #28 Share Posted August 14, 2019 Just got a letter about our cruise on the Navigator October 4th. Our stay has been extended until 10pm, with night time activities and a BBQ. Just curious if anyone else on any other sailing have received this notice?
brookmill18 Posted August 14, 2019 #29 Share Posted August 14, 2019 Are the nighttime activities a mix of excursions (to pay extra) and included? If so, do you mind sharing what is included?
FloridaGator Posted August 14, 2019 #30 Share Posted August 14, 2019 Just another way to gouge more profit out of cruisers.

brookmill18 Posted August 15, 2019 #33 Share Posted August 15, 2019 Funny enough, our 4 night sailing on Mariner (4/19) seems the only one not getting the double stop in April?? Do they have to stop in Nassau or could they do a sea day for that and still do 2 stops in CocoCay?
BillsMafiaBabe Posted August 15, 2019 #34 Share Posted August 15, 2019 Im probably in the minority but honestly ... I'm a little sad that this itinerary doesn't start until after my Navigator cruise on 9/16.

I have not gotten off the ship in Nassau the last 3 or 4 times I/we have been there. That is a "sea day" for us. It's unfortunate for others that may want to shop, but not a negative for us.
brookmill18 Posted August 15, 2019 #37 Share Posted August 15, 2019 Just curious if RCCL "has" to stop there with the CocoCay stops?

They probably don't have to stop there, but it's very close to Coco Cay, so it's probably hard for them to resist.
orlandok Posted August 15, 2019 #39 Share Posted August 15, 2019 The Bahamas government is making stops in Nassau and Freeport a requirement for further private island development. Disney's recent agreement for a second island included them agreeing to increase Nassau and Freeport stops by 40%. They likely also have some requirements for RCL to continue to make stops in the real ports too.

I've been to the new CocoCay twice and havent spent a single cent and had fantastic snorkeling, great beach time, and not to mention how great the pool was. I'd 100% take that stop over paying $30 for some 2 hour beach excursion that doesn't even supply drinks.
sikegrad Posted August 15, 2019 #44 Share Posted August 15, 2019 I'm on the 4-day Mariner December 23rd sailing, but no changes to our itinerary. There are already two ships in Coco on our "sea" day, and i doubt they would move our Nassau day which would give us the 25th and 26th at Coco. Dang... we are on Mariner Oct 4th, but I guess since we are at coco cay sunday it would not allow for extra time in order to make it back to Cape Canaveral in time.. This is almost always the case. I was mainly referring to during the day. Those who prefer to stay on the ship during the day, will not have the opportunity to go to the casino until early evening. m

We love sea days as there is lots going on and things are open. Guess less things and maybe no bellyflop contest, no MDR lunch, no scavenger hunts, etc etc
