Royal Abbreviations

I thought it might be nice to have a singular place for all of the abbreviations one might see on this board. In my humble opinion, this should be a pinned post! Let me know if I missed anything (I am sure I did!)

 

Ship abbreviations (Often seen with an OTS ending IE, Harmony might be shown as HOTS - Harmony of the Seas)

NV - Navigator

AD - Adventure

MA - Mariner

VY - Voyager

EX - Explorer

FR - Freedom

LB - Liberty

ID - Independence (also shown as Indy)

AN - Anthem

QN - Quantum

OV - Ovation

SY - Symphony

OA - Oasis

AL - Allure

HM - Harmony

RD - Radiance

BR - Brilliance

SR - Serenade

JW - Jewel

SP - Splendour

LG - Legend

EN - Enchantment

GR - Grandeur

RH - Rhapsody

VI - Vision

MJ - Majesty

NE - Empress

 

Room/Suite Abbreviations:

OS - Owner's Suite

JS - Junior Suite

WS - Guaranteed Suite

ATS - Aqua Theater Suite

BWV - Boardwalk View (can be a Balcony)

CPV - Central Park View

PV - Promenade View

 

Dinning Abbreviations:

CK - Coastal Kitchen

MDR - Main Dinning Room

WJ - Wind Jammer

SB - Solarium Bistro

I totally agree. When you come to the almost always slow loading first page, you have to scroll half way down to get to the first thread ‼️

I personally think it’s easier to just spell things out. At least for most  readers it is, I think.

This may be true... but there are also 3 that should be deleted/unpinned for their irrelevance

So, if all these abbreviations are pinned, I guess that means those of us who aren’t on here a lot have to open another thread to  try to find what the abbreviation stands for, close that thread, and then reopen the original thread❓

NO, you just use the wrong abbreviation and the cc police will correct you.

The problem with threads like this is that some of the abbreviations are just made up and not used by most on these boards.  Royal Caribbean has abbreviations for all the ships but the rest are some that are used on these boards and others are just made up by posters and not commonly used.

Or, How about someone (me) just wanted to create a place where someone who may not be as well versed in the CC (Cruise Critic) lingo, might find some help.

 

So people might be intimidated to ask a question because of some of the vitriol on this board.

I think if everyone used the same abbreviation it is much easier using 2 letters instead of the ships full name
